The location is really good, near to a bus stop that takes you to Nara park! Our accommodation was exceptional, the traditional house is cosy, tidy, clean and very comfortable. Mr. Shunju and Mike are very welcoming and nice people that provide you with information, recommendations and comforts that make the whole trip an unforgettable experience! I would definitely go back again at Naramachi Guesthouse for my next staying at Nara!

Wonderfully charming and erudite host in Mr. Anzai. Beautiful 110 year old house once a calligraphy school. Many artifacts to admire. Good location short walk to wandering streets near Nara Park.

It’s a beautiful house with great rooms and a very friendly atmosphere. The owner is very kind and welcoming! The location is great for exploring Nara. We loved Nara, both for cozy Naramachi and the beautiful nature and temples, especially in the upper parts of Nara park. Bike rental from the guesthouse was also great!

Very comfortable, spacious room. Exceptional host. He is so friendly and recommended an amazing sushi restaurant. You can tell he really takes pride in his ryokan. The common area was lovely to spend time in and it was no issue storing our bags. The location is also easy to get to by bus from the JR station and it's a short walk to the main Nara sights (or you can rent his bikes for cheap). So welcoming and comfy. 10/10 recommend.

Bed comfortable - lovely to stay in a ryokan. Marginally stressful with rambunctious 10yo and paper walls! The owner was amazing and exceptionally kind. My husband needed medical attention and he rang around to find out what was open on public holiday and then drove him to hospital, translated and drove him home. Incredibly kind and far far exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much!

“Great experience”

The owner knows english quite well and was eager to give us a little tour around the house. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing making it a great experience.

Room was large for just one person, the lighting was great, no harsh lights. It was quiet. Bath and tea facilities were great. Host is friendly and helpful. Will stay again if in Nara. Close to sights and restaurants.
