The owner of the property is very sweet. I was running late for a booked show at Chichu and there were no cabs or buses, so he called a friend to drop me. Very helpful!

Great location with the local bus stop very close. Being central on the island means all art sites are within walking distance. A few restaurants are located nearby, and all can be recommended. The owner very generously gave us a lift to the port at Miyanoura for an early morning ferry. The apartment is very large and comfortable and a simple but tasty breakfast is provided, and there is a full array of cookware if you wish to self cater. We have stayed here twice and loved both visits!

Yellow House is not in a convenient location. It is clean and has lots of amenities but there were No towels. I had to look in closets and use a sheet. I wouldn’t stay there again.

Super clean, we had a lovely one night stay. It’s was great value for money, basic but what you need and right beside the bus stop. The restaurant next door was wonderful. It was really peaceful and we slept the best we had our whole trip. The host had left bread, butter and jam which we appreciated in the morning 😃

We stayed here as a group of five (two adults and three children) and booked two apartments, which worked out perfectly for us. The host was incredibly friendly and thoughtful. He had already prepared breakfast for us, which turned out to be enough for two mornings. At departure, he went above and beyond by driving us—together with an extra friend and all our luggage—to the harbor. We also really appreciated being able to borrow the bicycles, which was extremely convenient during our stay. Overall, a very pleasant experience with outstanding hospitality!

“Quaint, quirky and perfect!”

It was quirky and clean and had everything you could need provided. Owner organised early morning drop off to ferry which we really appreciated as we were unsure of best way to get to the port so early.

“Welcoming and homely with lovely eating choices close by for each evening”

The welcoming food on arrival was a lovely touch. There was lovely little artistic touches throughout the premises like a paper crane and a pretty clock and an artwork by Yayoi Kusama. The water with fishing boats in it was only about 10 m behind our apartment. It was about a 50 m walk to the bus stop to get the buses around the island. It reminded me of a little holiday house by the water.

Located between some great eateries. Okonomiyaki, Italian and a Ramen cafe which was closed when we stayed . Easy walk to Naoshima old town for coffee, eats and scenery. Naoshima coffee house is approx 10 mins walk with coffee and amazing views. The Yellow house was so comfy with kitchen and an apartment set up. Very well equipped. Would stay here again if I come to Naoshima. Bus stops a stones throw from the accomodation.

The owner provided a very substantial breakfast including yoghurt and fruit with plenty of quality coffee and tea

Very accommodating host, who helps us arrange transport from and to port. There is even a spread of breakfast items provided. Love the location at a fishing village, close to waters, yet with easy access to bus stop and 2 eateries. Enjoyed the stay!

I really enjoyed my stay at yellow house for the price it was fantastic, great accommodation, loved the location, heater in bedroom was really good, lovely owner, a very generous food starter pack, really enjoyed the whole experience.

Stayed for just 1 night. The photos are a true indication of the accommodation. It was very quiet at night and there was an okonimayaki restaurant just around the corner which was good. Breakfast supplies were appreciated. Thanks

Breakfast was not advertised as being included but a food package was actually included. The apartment was well presented and included all usual facilities. The location was convenient to the bus route.

“Great stay on Naoshima”

After staying in many tiny hotel rooms on this Japan trip it was great to stay in a small Japanese style house/apartment with a small kitchen/dining room separate from the bedroom. Washing machine was great (but note no dryer). 2 minute walk to the ‘town’ bus stop which is perfect for access to the art sites and port. Be aware though the town bus does not run in the evening, and there are only 4 restaurants in easy walking distance. There is no 7-11 (etc) in easy walking distance

Perfect location between Benesse Art Site and Honmura. Landlord was very helpful. Stuff to prepare breakfast was offered (bread, fruit, yogurt, tea/coffee)

“Lovely guest house in a great spot”

Loved this guest house in a great spot right near the Town Bus and an easy walk to the beach (and the yellow pumpkin!). Complimentary breakfast was much appreciated and the hosts were very kind and communicative. Highly recommend!
