“Once in a lifetime experience”

It was definitely the highlight of our almost 3 weeks in Japan. It was such a unique experience. Our host was amazing. The home was beautiful and authentic. Was like a museum inside and out. Dinner and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The home was cozy warm and beds so comfortable. Can't fault our stay. We want to go back!

Wonderful experience, the hostess was very welcoming, and the room made very comfortable, with space heaters and lots of blankets to keep us warm. Both dinner and breakfast were great too. It was lovely to wake up in Ainokura and see the gassho-zukuri houses in the snow without any crowds.

A very precious experience We consider ourselves lucky to stay in such a special place It will allows ypu to visit the village early/ later than for other tourist And it is probably the most beautiful village of the region Host is really nice. Food is really good and generous

Absolutely stunning. Authentic building, beautiful setting, attentive host, incredible food. The host cooked from her garden out back and it was my best meal in Japan.

It felt like a privilege to be able to have the opportunity to stay in a 350 year old gassho house in this beautiful village. We had a comfortable night there with a gracious host providing a delicious and plentiful supper and breakfast with lots of choice. The property also gave us the option to pay by cash or card and has WiFi too - not mentioned on the Booking.Com website

The food was delicious

Lovely stay in a traditional ryokan, surrounded by snow in a small village in mid April. The food was good. Very good value for money. Lovely warm and comfortable beds.

These Minshuku are a wonderful experience for the night. This particular minshuku was not the most traditional one in the village, but the trade-off is that it is more modern and more comfortable. The rooms were huge, and they were well heated. The meals we were served were delicious.
