Our host was very accommodating and nice. The room we stayed in was very lovely, a great vibe to the building and a comfy place to stay. We paid for a breakfast that was unbelievably good value for money and was the best breakfast we had in our month long stay in Japan.

The host was super helpful, detailing everything and giving advice on where to go around the place. Her English was near perfect so no issues there. She gave us a discount for the nearby onsen. The futons were very comfortable. The morning coffee overseeing the next door field with the sunrise was the perfect way to start the day We would definitely come back

“Great location”

The guesthouse is located in Gokayama, the center of the Gassho-Fukuri villages. It faces Rte 156, with parking directly off the road and backs onto serene rice paddies and mountains. It’s only a short drive to the atmospheric villages of Suganuma and Ainokura and not far from Ogimachi. Our hostess was warm and hospitable with excellent English. Everything was sparkling clean. Our family room was spacious, the twin beds were comfortable, and storage space was generous. Wifi worked great and the water in the small shower and kitchenette was hot. The shared kitchenette was a bonus, with a big fridge, microwave, and a supply of mugs, plates, and cutlery.

The host was kind, considerate and warm! She made our stay extremely comfortable, and the futons were the most comfortable we had ever slept on!!! Also we were going to a local onsen and she provided us with coupons! We were very pleased! I highly recommend this accommodation for its location, price and hospitality!

very nice Host that helps you with everything and provides a nice breakfast. there is a good restaurant at 15 minutes walk and very nice onsen at 30 minutes walk.

The owner is extremely kind and welcoming, asking about breakfast preferences, phoning up the local Izakaya to ask for their availability and even driving me to the long-distance bus station. I had the most wonderful time in Gokayama, thank you!
