Breakfast & Dinner provided is exceptional. You will get to experience original serving of a Japanese style full course meal. Both breakfast and Dinner are served with beef, this part might need to inform the staff there for those who do not take beef. Onsen bath is nice too.

A perfect getaway in the mountains amidst the traditional Gassho homes, this Onsen beat all our expectations from the immaculately prepared Japanese room with Tatamis, to the steamy onsen, to the incredible service of the staff when serving their home cooked 10 course + menu which was a complete surprise, both for breakfast and dinner, all with fresh ingredients.

This Ryokan is a hidden gem on the road between Kanazawa and Shirakawa. The meals were absolutely fabulous, and the vicinity to the less touristy Gas’s-Ho villages was super nice! There are some gender separated Onsen on the property though the water was crazy hot! A hidden bonus was the Gass-ho house across the street. It is a great house to explore, and you receive great interpretation in English. We learnt so much, and ate so much :)

“A Gem in Gokayama”
Conveniently located within short drive to explore Gokayama & Shirakawa-go Gassho villages. The tatami room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast and dinner were sumptuous and delicious. Staff were friendly though not well versed in English but managed to communicate via Google Translate.

“Great stay with delicious meals and friendly staff”
We really enjoyed our stay, the whole experience was wonderful. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and featured a private toilet and bathroom. Both dinner and breakfast, included in the rate, were delicious and truly part of the overall experience. The staff were polite and friendly, making us feel very welcome.

“Traditional ryokan”
Breakfast and dinner provided were sumptuous and delicious. Onsen area is modest without a view. We took the room with attached bath and toilet. Which was on the first floor. So all's good. Our bedding was removed while we were at breakfast even though we locked the door. Probably a cultural thing so just to note. Opposite was iwase house, which is great for a visit.

The location was really good, positioned strategically close to the main attractions of the area including Ainokura and Ogimachi. The food was quite good too.

“We had a great time!”
The staff were great and made our stay feel personalised. The "home cooked meal" was a full kaiseki dinner and breakfast, including lovingly prepared meals for the children. Location was great - away from the main crowds at Shirakawa-Go, and just across from Iwase House, the largest Gass-Ho in the region, where we spent some time exploring (owner gave an English-speaking tour). Easy drive either south to Shirakawa-Go, or north to the quieter (but smaller) villages of Ainokura and Suganuma.
