Overview
Located in the Gokayama hot-spring area, Gokasanso offers Japanese and Western-style accommodations with a flat-screen TV. Guests can relax in the indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths and wear Japanese Yukata robes. The air-conditioned rooms feature a private toilet, a fridge and an electric kettle with green tea bags. Bathrooms are shared with all other guests. A bedside lamp makes use of locally produced washi, Japanese traditional paper. Local gifts can be purchased at the souvenir shop and sauna rooms are available as well. Guests can enjoy a traditional Gokayama music performance at the lobby on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Free Wi-Fi is provided at the public areas. A traditional multi-course meal is served for dinner and a Japanese set-menu for breakfast. All meals are served at the dining room. UNESCO World Heritage Site, Shirakawago Historic Village is a 30-minute drive away. World Heritage Sites, Suganuma and Ainokura Village are both a 10-minute drive and Taira Ski Resort is a 15-minute bus ride away.

“Fabulous ryokan with fantastic snowy mountain View’s”
Fabulous Mountain View all covered with snow. Very relaxing onsen to enjoy ans part of half board package, including a really nice outdoor onsen with snow around. Dinner with hida beef and breakfast were delicious. Hotel has elevator and so no worries about lugging our baggages. Free car parking on hotel premises.

“Nice stay”
The staff were nice and very pleasant. The onsen was great, outdoor one especially. The provided meals were really good and so interesting(so many small bits and served in dainty containers/receptacles - very cute). I liked the fact guests are given a Yukata to wear, really felt authentic.

Clean and Spacious room. Comfortable bed. Nice onsen with indoor and outdoor pool. Dinner was delicious. Free coffee from the machine till 10am. All guests need to leave their outdoor footwear at the main entrance.

The stay was relaxed and rejuvenate, ideal location for those looking forward to relax and enjoy hot spring with traditional Japanese food. Hot spring experience is amazing.

Nice service, and they have hot spring also. If you stay in gokayama, I recommend you should have dinner in booked hotel, becuz there is no restaurant open until 3pm...

Wonderful staff and excellent service. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. The traditional welcome performance (available on certain days) was excellent and educational, although seems to be only available in Japanese. Room was very spacious and comfortable and overall great value. This is a great place to stay to explore the Gassho villages of Gokayama, Ainokura and Suganuma (we took the bus) and we much preferred these quieter authentic towns to Shirakawago which was packed with tourists.
