La Brugere is a very special place. Nothing like it. Everything is far above any sensible expectation. Nobility sits in the walls, from the four-post bed to the fantastic murals in the large bathroom. Serene surroundings, a grand park down to a river, flowing gently. Tranquility, luxuriosity, hiding the rest if the world at bay. Add to all that a very friendly host. Honestly, you can't as for more.

What a beautiful hidden gem. This house is magical, set within a very private area with beautiful countryside all around. The wonderful owners have kept the original feel of the property with original features like paintings still there to be admired. The outside area for drinks is so special and everything has been furnished so tastefully. Hosts Patrick and Raphael are wonderful and so kind. We had our dinner reservations made for us every evening and we also enjoyed Raphael’s homemade cooking on one evening which was exceptional. We had just come from our wedding and they so kindly popped a bottle of champagne and upgraded our room on the last evening. Thank you so much Patrick and Raphael for your kindness.

Lovely location and beautiful house. It is situated in a green valley next to the river. We loved the peace and quiet of the surroundings. The house is beautifully decorated in old style and the swimming pool is really nice. Raphael and Patrick were really good hosts. They recommended a lot of things to do, like day trips to Brantôme and chateau hautefort but also nice restaurants. On some days we could enjoy Raphael’s cooking, which was truly a treat. We loved every meal we had at the house. Definitely try to eat at the house once you’re there. We would definitely like to come back!

A truly magical place surrounded by majestic trees, birds, butterflies and dragonflies. Each day I couldn’t wait to go back to the swimming pool. To swim with the trees around was like basking in nature. Patrick gave us a splendid welcome explaining the history and facilities. Raphael is a wonderful chef. We had two delicious dinners with aperitifs on the terrace; it was a paradise!

Amazing property - beautiful - steeped in history ( fascinating) & so lovingly restored! Absolutely charming hosts who bent over backwards to ensure our stay was perfect! Raphael produced a fabulous 3 course dinner & lovely breakfast which Patrick served on the terrace with lovely views across the garden. It was a special part of our holiday - a shame we couldn’t stay longer!

Patrick and Raphael are amazing hosts. We were beautifully welcomed to the Domaine from Patrick with a lovely drink and chatted a bit! The place is surrounded by beautiful trees and a lovely stream! A magical stay. Beautiful peaceful surroundings, the most most wonderfully spacious room with stunning views of the garden. The hosts were incredibly attentive and friendly with nothing being too much trouble. Breakfast was wonderful and the evening meals were some of the tastiest food we’ve had in ages. All in all one of the best stays we’ve ever had anywhere. Highly recommended.

Everything. The property is simply to die for, tastefully finished and a true labour of love. It feels like a home away from home. This is type of place you want everyone to experience but also secretly and selfishly want to keep it yourself. 🤦🏾‍♀️😂. Planning to visit with my mother to share some of that joy with her and a cycling trip with friends ending up back here.

What a fabulous place! If you ever wanted to stay in high french style, this is it. A fantastic chateau with period furniture and quirky touches. Just a short drive from beautiful villages and caverns. Lovely pool and fabulous terrace. We loved the chateaus own honey at sumptuous breakfast and the beautiful dinner cooked with local produce. A stand out of our European tour. Recommended.

Gorgeous house on an absolutely beautiful property. Tucked away in the forest, with a stream running through the property. The hosts are incredibly kind, accommodating, and fun! The dinner on-site was great. Highly recommend!
