Beautifully renovated old Japanese house with a view of a Kiso valley and a beautiful garden. Super spacious so can accommodate many people. Well equipped kitchen if one fancies to cook. Nearby restaurant and train station. Highly recommend either for a night or multiple days to relax and enjoy the magical atmosphere of the house and neighborhood.

“Absolutely amazing”
The house is a picture of old Japanese craftmanship. It felt like staying at a museum. The photos already gave some away, but it really exceeded our expectations. So much space. Comfortable beds, a very well-stocked kitchen. It's a short walking distance from the station and our host Assi communicated very well with us and even was so kind as to drive us to the start of the Nakasendo trail.

“Quiet village stay for travellers happy to go off the main routes.”
It was a huge space with multiple rooms and a very welcoming host. It was like a home away from home. The house is beautifully renovated in traditional Japanese style and the delightful garden is part of the view. Close to the very popular Magome to Tsumago walk on the Nakasendo trail.

“This is an almost unique immersion into a traditional Japanese home, recommended!”
This was a truly exceptional experience, the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful simplicity and ingenuity of a traditional Japanese home. The stay added to our whole experience of Japan. Assi was also a very friendly and amenable host.

“Lovely few peaceful days here.”
Beautiful, old house restored by owner who is a lovely man. He was very attentive and helpful. We had the entire house to ourselves. Very spacious and comfortable. The house is in a nice area of the Kiso valley, very close to hiking trails and water falls and a few minutes drive to the Nakasenda trail.

Assi is such a wonderful host with an even better taste in music. We really enjoyed his music collection and he was so helpful. The place is a really incredible 120-year old Japanese house that we felt very lucky to enjoy even if only for a night!

The cost of staying here was incredibly well priced for what you get. I had a whole house to myself. Assi the owner was so curiosity and made my stay great. He drove me to Magome on my first day and saw me off, driving me to the train station when I left. He made sure to give me transport times too and let me know where the supermarket was. The house itself is amazing and Assi made sure to show me around it all. If you want to see the Japanese countryside and get away from it all, I couldn't reccomend this place more. An unforgettable experience.

“Traditional Japanese House, Must Stay”
A beautiful way to experience a lovely Japanese town, the guesthouse itself is equipped with all the essentials, including a decked out kitchen, mini oven, fridge, stove ect, multiple lounge room and sitting areas, with the bedrooms being located upstairs. All areas have heating and cooling systems. Assi was extremely helpful meeting us on the first day for check-in. He gave us all the information we needed about the restaurants in the town, the grocery stores and even offered to drive us to Magome the next day which was a great help !

“Beautiful traditional house”
A beautiful traditional Ryokan ideally located for visiting the Kiso valley. The house was very spacious and had some beautiful original features and lovely rock garden with pond. The beds were comfortable and it was very quiet. The host was welcoming and helpful and it would have been nice to stay more than the one night we had booked.

“Wonderful, traditional Japanese home”
Wonderful, spacious, traditional old Japanese house complete with a lovely small garden. The house is very well equipped for self-catering, but is also close to restaurants and not far from a small supermarket. The host has also included personal touches so that you feel you are staying in a home - not just a rental. Very convenient parking space by the door. The house is in a town off the tourist trail but just a few minutes drive from Magome and the Kuso Valley.

This guesthouse is unreal - it looks like a film set! It was clean, comfortable, and surrounded by lovely residents. The morning and afternoon light in the guesthouse was incredible, and it was a great place to rest and enjoy the countryside. We are also very grateful to Assi, who was an excellent host. He helped us with our questions and gave us great recommendations for food and activities. I do recommend to rent a car if you are staying here for easy access to surrounding wards. If you have the opportunity, don’t hesitate to stay here. It will be a highlight of your trip!
