Overview

“A humble hotel within a city that likes to party hard”
Close to the entertainment district of Nagoya, the hotel felt welcoming and humble. Though the staff felt a bit uptight towards foreign visitors, I did feel that the staff took their job seriously. Though the Higashiyama Line takes a bit of walking, the restaurants are plentiful and all have their distinct charm. Though I do recommend you know some basic Japanese when going to the restaurants near the hotel, there are also plenty restaurants for foreign tourists to visit closer to Sakae or Sakaemachi. I recommend this hotel if shopping is in your list of things to do or if you want to try out the local cuisines of Nagoya.

The property was in a good location but we were given a smoking room and we were all non-smokers and so the rooms smelt really bad. We didn’t realise when we booked that it was smoking rooms. This did not make our short stay pleasant.

“The familiar comfy hotel formula done incredibly well!”
Firstly, 24/7 staff were lovely, and set a wake up call for me as requested. The room was a nice clean and efficient room very much in line with what you normally expect from Japanese hotels (the familiar design). I felt there were nice touches with a really good quality TV, plus a fridge, kettle, and lots of plugs everywhere. It felt like an easy room to be very comfortable in quickly, and everything had been taken care of. Location was great. A bit out to the east of centre, this is an area with lots of restaurants and charming music venues (which I was there to attend). Transport is great with two stations within a short walk from the hotel that take you directly to central Nagoya or give you the opportunity to explore. I must also say that my room (13th floor) had a beautiful city view! Very charming!

“A nice hotel in Nagoya”
The hosts were nice and welcoming. The hotel was clean, a walking distance from good restaurants, Nagoyas' Castle and Toyota museum.
