Amazing place, beautiful staff. We loved the onsen!!!

Lovely to stay in a ryokan near a forest. Quiet and very relaxing. As a couple, we had plenty of space and very comfortable futons.

What an increadible experience!! Its an absolute privilege to be able to stay here. The onsen baths are amazing, as are the hosts. We felt comfortable immediately. Delicious food of the highest quality. We came with three kids (8-11 yo) and they loved every minute.

We love how traditional the Inn is. The little details that made our stay relaxing and peaceful are one the private location, beautiful forest surroundings, the waterfall which was so very close. Having our own private Onsen with stunning view. The traditional food was delicious. Our lovely hosts take much care to make sure our stay is special.

An absolute gem of a place - super location high in the Japanese Alps and staff so attentive - for a total break from the hustle and bustle of modern life a total wind down location Food is exceptional

“Fantastic!”

We had a fantastic stay at Takimi Onsen. Koike and his wife were so warm and welcoming. Koike speaks good English and we enjoyed our conversations with him. He worked as a chef in Tokyo for many years; the food he prepared for us was a truly amazing spread - totally delicious! In addition to driving us around (drop-off/pick-up for Nagiso station and our Magnome to Tsumago walk) he introduced us to a local craftsman from whom I bought a beautiful bowl - an original piece of Japanese art, exactly the type of memory I was looking for. Then of course, there’s the onsen with its beautiful waterfall - the perfect way to relax after our walk along Nakasendo way. Our two nights at Takimi Onsen were a very special part of our three week Japanese adventure… we would love to return one day!

The owner kindly picked us up from Tsumago and drove us in luxury to the Onsen. The setting is so picturesque. You don’t just arrive, but are transported into a different place and time. The food was spectacular, fresh and mostly local. We should have stayed longer!

The house is spectacular! Very authentic Japanese, very traditional, very comfortable, amazing onsen, perfect to relax in the nature with waterfall sounds, the hosts and owners of the house are the loveliest people ever! Best food I had in Japan and very authentic! The wagyu….OMG, spectacular! Best in my entire life!

This place is absolutely divine. It is a peaceful, tranquil, beautiful setting and the outdoor onsen is heaven. The food was amazing and extremely plentiful. The hosts could not have been more amenable, so friendly and kind. They picked us up and dropped us off at the train station and for our day walk. Highly recommended :)

“Wonderful stay with beautiful hot bath (onsen) experience and gorgeous food”

The setting was gorgeous and our onsen experience was magical. It drizzled and the outside onsen facing the waterfall was perfect, relaxing and mystical. The attention to detail, aesthetics and absolutely delicious food made our stay at Takimi Onsen Inn such a worthwhile stop in our Japan trip, after busy Tokyo. We were so happy that we booked this Inn. Our teenage daughter absolutely loved it too, and spent hours in the onsen facility. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. Make sure you arrive at 4pm to make the most of this wonderful experience.

Beautiful building with real nice staff. One of the owner speaks enough English to get by but all the signs are translated so it's not much of a problem. We got a free pick up at the train station. Traditional, high quality Japanese food with great service. One of the best we had in Japan: I highly recommend. I wish we stayed longer

The fact that we (2 ppl) had the whole thing for ourselves. We had 2 waterfaĺls outside of the house, also the staff was the kindest ever!

Such lovely hosts, so welcoming. The rooms were traditional and lovely. The onsen was amazing looking over a waterfall. Dinner and breakfast was generous and delicious. Highly recommend this place for a restful and relaxing stay.
