“Great location, house full of character, all the things you need on your doorstep!”

When you get the whole house with this much character you know its a good deal. The charm of the place and its location opposite the train & bus station is perfect. The cafe next door for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea or beer to serve all your needs. The local supermarket 2 mins down the road with lots of great treats to cook up once you get back to the Mountainn. The buses across the road take you to all the best hiking spots and bring you back to this ideal location for a few days of adventure on the Nakesendo and around this valley town.

The generous hosts have rebuilt and restored this bespoke residence with care and creativity with recycling and sustainability at its core. The perfect location in Nagiso from which to explore the Nakasendo Trail via rail, bus or hiking. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were excellent.

The location could not be more convenient, being just opposite thr train station. A grocery store is also a few doors away. There's also a few restaurants within easy walking distance. There's a well equipped kitchen that we were able to cook a meal easily. We had the use of the entire two-storey house, including the downstairs bedroom that has a large room with tatami mat flooring - a great place to relax. That bedroom also overlooks the river. The entire apartment is very tastefully designed with artisinal furnishings and fittings.

Perfect location that is opposite the train station. The staff were super helpful and replied to any queries we had promptly. The property was well equipped and had everything we need. Wish we could have stayed longer!

“Awesome Stay”

We stayed as a couple in the accommodation and it was an incredible offer for the money. The accommodation is huge and very well equipped. Although we didn't meet the host in person, the communication was very uncomplicated.

“huge place, great value”

This place was really huge - we were a group of seven, but it could accommodate many more. We got it ridiculously cheap - I think that was a mistake in the listing. It seems it used to be some sort of restaurant or something(?) because there is a counter where you would pay the bill. The views were great from the balconies. The location is right in front of your face when you step out of the train station. The interior decor was strange - brut concrete and pipes in places, contrasting with very nice modern toilets and shower rooms with wood paneled areas. There were no ensuites. It's very suitable for a large family group, or friends.

Super friendly staff to help us with checking in. Right in front of train station and nakasendo trail. Its a very big nice house.

“Great location near station and supermarket (not just convenience store)”

Very well presented property with fully equipped kitchen (and best supermarket we found in Japan just down the road, a rare opportunity to stock up on fresh fruit and veg). Plenty of space and balcony for sitting outside. Options for tatami mat or western beds. Easy for transport just opposite the station, but also easy walk to the wooden bridge.

“Nice place to stay”

The location is really close to station and it is convenient for us to travel around the region. The facility is fully equipped, especially the kitchen. The room is huge with simple decorations but is comfortable enough. The overall design of the house is good and the view is nice as well. Staff is very supportive and quick response.

Very cool style, thoughtful and comfortable. A great place to stay as family or with friends. Great coffee and breafast pleace right next door and the station 50m away. Highly recommendable!

“Nice & cosy cabin/house!”

It was a cosy & comfortable space for all 6 of us to hang out and rest up for one night! Loved the big functional dining/kitchen area, that's where we spent most of our time in. Rooms were spacious and it was nice that the windows could be opened so cool air helped to ventilate the spaces. Definitely recommend this for a short stay especially for group travelers!

“Beautiful house facing the river”

We stayed one night in MountaInn after a long hike and it was lovely. The host welcomed us in English and gave us a tour of the house. The place is decorated with taste and have all your need, including a cute balcony with a view on the river. We recommend this place, we could definitely have stayed more!

We loved our stay in MOUNTAinn. Our group of 7 rented the entire house and loved the quirky atmosphere, cosy gathering spaces and great location.

The Airbnb had everything we need for an overnight stay. As there were almost no restaurants near MOUNTAinn, we brought local ingredients from the supermarket and enjoyed our cooking at the spacious, well equipped kitchen. The rooms and beds are clean. The river view of the balcony was excellent, but it's too cold for us to stay there for a long time coz it's still cold in early March. I appreciate the patience of the lady staff until like 5pm as I didn't respond their messages (reminded me to tell them when I was about to reach Nagiso) because we were busy hiking during the day.

This is not a hotel, so there is no breakfast. The location of the accommodation is very convenient, right opposite the JR station. The staff is very helpful. The place is very clean. The bedroom is air-conditioned with heat. It was a nice experience.

“Impeccably designed home in a great location!”

Every single thing in this place is beautiful with the most wonderfully designed restoration work I’ve ever seen. The owners clearly love and care for this place and have done everything to make it welcoming for guests. We absolutely loved it. We hiked from the door to Tsumago down the Nakasendo trail and got the bus back. We got most meals from the grocery shop 50m away. The location across from the train makes it perfect for getting around. We loved our stay!
