“Not what we expected”

My friend and I booked two nights here as we were craving some time in nature. After seeing such high reviews, we were genuinely excited about our stay. I would like to begin by acknowledging that the people working there were extremely kind and welcoming. We felt warmly received, and the staff themselves were not the issue. The accommodation was basic but acceptable for the setting. However, upon arrival, there were people smoking inside the restaurant area. For a place presenting itself as an organic homestay focused on health and nature, this felt inconsistent and inappropriate. It was not the environment we expected. Unfortunately, our experience took a more serious turn with the food. Shortly after dinner on our first evening, we both began experiencing gastrointestinal distress. I also developed a rash with swelling around my lymph nodes. The following morning, we both woke feeling unusually heavy, dehydrated, and unwell — similar to a severe hangover without having consumed alcohol. Because of this, we decided to check out early, as we no longer felt comfortable continuing to eat the meals provided. The food is advertised as organic; however, we found it very heavy and oily. The “fresh” juice tasted processed, as though it may have come from a bottle rather than being freshly prepared. Several days later, we are both still feeling achy, heavy, and generally unwell. I am sharing this feedback not to criticize the staff personally — they were genuinely kind — but to raise concerns about hygiene standards, food preparation, and consistency with the retreat’s health-focused positioning. With more attention to these areas, the experience could better match the expectations created by the reviews and branding.

Wonderful family home stay, welcoming host, and great organic food. We were also treated to a special traditional dance by Krishi, the daughter, and felt grateful for this experience. They also provided hot water bottles.

It was so peaceful and relaxing

Very nice accomodation for people who like to be in nature. The rooms were simple but had everything you need. Very kind hosts who are very helpful and welcoming.

This place is so beautiful, there are little houses in the trees, with some monkeys to observe. Very quiet and peaceful. The food is amazing at all times. The owner and his family are very welcoming, very convenient, they can help you for your hike and give you advice. The bus is easy to take to reach Nagarkot center. I really recommend this place.

“Amazing stay in the forest.”

Probably one of the biggest surprises during my stay in Nepal. Nagarkot is breathtaking and Jungle Crown enhances this feeling with its relaxed atmosphere and beautiful location. Each unit has its own privacy. The beds are very comfortable and warm water is available throughout the day. In each direction you can take amazing hikes through the forest. The owner surprised us every morning with very tasty breakfasts. Not one morning was the same. I felt like I could unwind and enjoy Nagarkot without a worry in the world. Would recommend this homestay to any nature lover.

I had a great stay here. The environment is calm and peaceful. You can easily relax and connect with nature. The forest next to the property is so nice to walk around and explore. The food was amazing here! The bus is available just at the top of the road and will take you to Nagarkot town :) Even though I am solo travelling and it was low season, the owner made sure I had company and communicated a lot with me! Super nice stay, definitely recommend

This homestay is incredible. The location is really quiet, surrounded by the forest and with a nice view of the city. Beds are comfy. If you like to relax, walk and explore nature it would be perfect for you. The hosts were just so nice and the food amazing. I recommend 100% this place.
