Overview
Offering affordable accommodations and free Wi-Fi in public areas and guestrooms, Moritomizu Backpackers is only a 5-minute walk from JR Nagano Train Station. Guests can drink free instant coffee and tea at the shared kitchen. This is a non-smoking property. Guests can choose between dormitory-style rooms or private rooms. All rooms are air conditioned. Bathrooms with showers and toilets are shared. A coin-operated launderette and bicycle rentals are available. Guests can cook their own meals at the shared kitchen and eat at the shared lounge, which features tatami (woven-straw) floors. A safety deposit box and luggage storage is available at the front desk. There is no ski drying space, but guests can keep their ski gear in a ski storage area. Backpackers Moritomizu is a 25-minute walk from Zenkoji Temple. Guests can use buses to get to various places like Snow Monkey Park, a 40-minute ride, Nozawa-onsen, a 80-minute ride, or Hakuba, a 70-minute ride away. Togakushi is also a 60-minute bus ride away. No meals are served.

“Unforgettable”
The hosts are incredibly nice, helpful and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxing and lively at the same time. They offer to make your own notebook and have super encens. If you’re a creative or love to play guitar, journal and meet new people who are incredibly interesting, that’s the place to go. Be aware, Nagano has so much to offer, don’t book just one night!

Great location very close to Nagano station and bus stop to town and temple. There’s a few restaurants around as well so can eat close by. The staff speak english and was really supportive in getting things sorted and helping move things and do laundry. Their concept of journaling people’s stay is awesome and something I haven’t seen before but I think it helps give people encouragement to get to know others so that’s awesome.

The beds and bedding set are so comfy. Location with a car is a bit inconvenient when renting a car (no parking lot). Room has enough space. And the other heating system is very efficient when it does get too cold with the normal AC system.

“Great stay”
Staff were so kind and funny - I don't even know her name, but the female staff was so fun to chat with. We laughed and laughed. Nice common area, and really lovely to make a cup of coffee the slow way. Convenient location and comfy beds.

Location is fantastic, just a 5 minute walk from the main station. The beds were perfectly adequate. The shared facilities were great and very cosy. The journaling concept was also fun! Staff were very friendly and gave travel recommendations.
