“One in a kind experience, if you are ready for the simplicity of it all.”
This is a homestay, it is not a resort. You get to experience village life and meet the locals. You get to play and talk to the children and the locals, you get to drink Kava, you get to enjoy a whole beach practically to yourself and eat local food made with love by different families in the village. Good food and big amounts provided (tends to be a bit repetitive with time). Coconuts and papayas straight off the trees. The village even caters for activities: fishing, cave trip, kayaks, etc.. If you dare to immerse yourself and are open for this adventure it is a spectacular experience. Like us, you might even return with new friendships. The house at the beach was very simple, facilities are simple. Don’t forget the Kava for the chief.

“Stunning place & local life, true Fijian experience!”
The local food was delicious and fresh. People are nice and friendly. The bure is right at the beautiful beach. Lovely, sweet sweet dogs to pamper and hug ♡ If you are a dog person, you will love jogging with them at the beach, there are also a few dogs that love to go swimming with you. If you wish to experience fijian life, this is the place. Please note that there is no restaurant, 40 FJD pp is to be paid daily for meals, but again, the food is amazing.

“Sick in paradise”
The two homestay bures are right on the most beautiful beach. There were times where you would have the entire beach to yourself. The villagers were really welcoming and we loved learning about village life. While we were there the village were having a celebration and they included us in their festivities which was great. Our young children enjoyed playing with the kids there. We felt well enough to have a short walk through the village’s plantation on our final day there which is really impressive.

“Beautiful village immersion”
We loved the location and the immersion in traditional village life… slowing down and being included in their meals. The hut was super basic but suited us okay. Loved walking up hills and beaches and quietly spending days ..

“Off-grid in paradise”
This place is a gem! We were welcomed so warmly into the village, and got to meet and chat with so many people. This was the first thing we did in the Yasawa Islands, and it was a great place to stay to learn about Fijian culture before moving onto some of the more mainstream resorts. Getting to visit different homes was incredible, and the food was SO delicious - thank you so much to everyone! And finally, how could I not mention the beach? Idyllic! You'll be off-grid, though, so make sure to bring a few good books!

“Family staying 3 nights at homestay”
Having our own private bungalow was lovely, and it was right on the beach, in such a beautiful location. The beach was incredible, lovely snorkeling The fijian kids were lovely, and played well with our children. Each meal was at a different village house, we loved getting to know the different families. The caves were wonderful, and there were market stalls there. The pastors wife made us feel so welcomed, and even made us hot chocolate, which was a real treat. She had clothes and jewellery for sale. The village children took our kids into the forest to harvest mangoes, the children loved this. Different people would come and meet us, some invited us to join them for a kava ceremony.

A true Fiji homestay experience. The villagers are warm and very welcoming. The beach is on your doorstep so lots of swimming, and it's a good launchpoint for visiting the nearby caves. There's some steep hill walks around if you're feeling brave. The accommodation is rustic but comfortable - obviously you don't have luxuries like at a resort but instead you have the same as what the villagers have. They don't drink alcohol, but there's lots of invitations to join for Kava in the evenings. We stayed for four nights, but three would probably have been about right. Would recommend joining the village for church service on Sunday to hear the wonderful choir and the children singing. (The children are adorable and funny!) Also I'd recommend to bring enough of your own bottles of water if you're unsure about drinking rainwater - the village shop didn't always have bottled water available. Overall it was a beautiful and very memorable experience, we're very thankful to our hosts for having us!

“If you want an authentic Fijian experience, this is the perfect place!”
This is the perfect place if you want an authentic Fijian experience! I was the only foreigner in the village. Do this only if you want an authentic experience! It’s not like going to a touristy island. I had excellent home cooked meals and mingled with the locals. It was also very relaxing staying right in front of a beautiful beach!
