“Didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised.”
You wouldn't know it from the photos (because they hardly show you anything), but this is actually quite a nice hotel. Spacious rooms with a view of the bay, multiple sinks and mirrors. The in-room baths have onsen water! The public onsen is has plenty of space and nice water temperature, plus really nice outdoor baths. Free coffee machine in the lounge. Souvenir store in the lobby. Free on site parking. Pick your own yukata from the "yukata bar". Bonus points for totally random "game centre", with a few arcade games and a bunch of gatcha/claw game machines. Easy to find, big light up KAMENOI HOTEL sign at the top of the tower stands out in the dark.

“Great location, great facilities, great food”
We had a beautiful view across the bay, the dinner was delicious and we enjoyed their onsen. The games room, noodle bar and karaoke options were unexpected but great.

“Great location and food but a bit outdated”
The food is great and in good portions. I loved the local ingredients and the different presentations for breakfast and dinner. The room had a view of the Kii Katsura Bay, and it was lovely.

“Amazing hotel by the sea”
The private onsen overlooking the sea is simply a dream, as well as the wonderful Japanese-style breakfast! The staff was really helpful and they have great recommendations for food and drinks in the city!

Relaxing stay after our 6-day trek along Nakahechi. - Only 8 min walk to/from train / bus station - Indoor and outdoor shared onsen to sooth our bodies - Various shampoo and conditioner options to choose from for onsen. - Flexible time to serve meals. I told the hotel we might arrive in Kii Katsuura late as the last day of our trek was going to be long. The hotel agreed to serve dinner in as late as 7.30pm. - Tasty and traditional Japanese dinner & breakfast - Can see a bit of the sea from room balcony. - Helpful staff

Not really worth the money. It’s a nice place but quite old. They don’t take into account your food restrictions and there is no exchange between front desk and kitchen. The kitchen staff are however lovely.
