Only a 1-minute walk from Myoko Suginohara Ski Resort, Tabist 須弥山の宿 田端屋 妙高戸隠 features Japanese-style, accommodation, free Wi-Fi at the lobby and karaoke facilities. It offers a free shuttle service to/from JR Myoko-Kogen Station. Suginosawa Onsen Hot Spring is a 5-minute walk. The Ryokan is a 10-minute drive from Myoko Ikenotaira Onsen Seki Resort, and a 15-minute drive from the Akakura Onsen Ski Resort and Akakura Onsen Hot Spring. JR Myoko-Kogen Station is a 10-minute drive. Japanese-style hotel Tabataya Ryokan has a 24-hour front desk, and accepts pets at a charge. Facilities include ski storage, drinks vending machines and free parking. Simple rooms feature a tatami (woven-straw) floor, a low table with seating cushions and traditional futon bedding. They are fitted with air conditioning, heating and a TV. Bathroom and toilet are shared. A Japanese breakfast and a traditional multi-course dinner are served at the dining room.

“Authentic Japanese inn with service from the heart”
we love the coziness and simplicity of the inn - the innkeepers were so warm and hospitable and the home made breakfast and dinner were exceptional.

“Overall, it is a good place to stay. Having your own transport makes it much more convenient to get”
The dinner they serve is very nice. I fell sick during my stay, but it was easy to find medicine around the area. The host noticed and kindly gave me some cough medicine, which helped a bit—definitely better than nothing at all.

“Simple but nice”
Breakfast was good. Shared bathroom is not my favourite style of accom, but very common at ski fields. Small Onsen bath. Overall a lovely little japanese inn. Simple but nice.

Staff were lovely and thoughtful - breakfast was always so good, dinner is a must have but you need to let them know in advance and there is an additional cost - SO WORTH THE WHILE, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Great location to the slopes. Great welcoming staff. Family makes you feel very comfortable. Accommodating for change in breakfast requirements. Ease of complimentary transfer. Offers to take you to the convenience store at any time. (Too far not to drive).

Great location right next to the Suginohara ski resort. Awesome friendly staff that cannot do enough for you. Would also highly recommend pre booking dinners at the accommodation, the food was amazing.

“Quiet, clean, comfortable and run by the loveliest family in Japan”
Tabataya is run by the loveliest family - they were so helpful and friendly. We loved our stay with them! It’s also a few minute walk to the Romance Chair at Suginohara which is very convenient. Make sure you try the traditional Japanese dinner at least one night as it is spectacular!

“Comfy cozy stay right at the ski field!”
Great location - only a few minutes walk from the bottom lift at Suginohara. The facilities are basic but effective: the dry room has room for everyone, the bath is nice and hot, the foyer lounge is cozy. Our room was large and clean and had everything we needed. The futons were warm and comfortable. Tabataya is run by a friendly local family. They were patient and kind with my very limited Japanese and helped with discounted lift tickets, food, and information. For anything more complex translation apps worked perfectly. There is dinner and breakfast available on site. The food is delicious Japanese cuisine, including a traditional breakfast. Everything was delicious ( and the portions were very generous, it was much more food than we were used to.

“Wonderful stay in a snowy Ryokan”
The family running the Ryokan provided unparalleled customer service, not only providing advice regarding local ski fields and restaurants but even going as far as to chauffeur me to a restaurant so I could enjoy an Asahi with dinner. Amazing Ryokan, could not recommend more!
