Overview
Only a 5-minute walk to Akakura Onsen Ski Resort, Star Hotel provides air-conditioned rooms with Japan’s unique tatami (woven-straw) flooring. It offers a hot-spring bath, Japanese meals and free parking. Guests can stay in Western beds, or try out Japan’s traditional futon bedding. Rooms with Western bedding include an en suite bathroom, while Japanese-style rooms have shared bathrooms. The hotel is 5.5 km from JR Myoko-Kogen Train Station. Imori-ike Pond is about a 10-minute drive away. Darts and table tennis provide relaxed entertainment.

“Comfortable stay”
Friendly staff - English speaking. Breakfast was great, self-serve cereal and muesli was included on top of hot breakfast. Onsen available for guest was huge and great. They were also kind enough to give us a lift to Myoko Kogen Station on the day of departure. Only 100m walk to the chairlift.

This is a family business and the staff were always helpful and attentive despite being busy. The onsen was lovely to be in after a day of skiing. The location was excellent- Close to all restaurants and the ski lifts.

The owner was very helpful and spoke good enough English so we were able to ask him to make phone calls for us to book reservations etc. We had dinner at the hotel one night which was a great Japanese home cooked meal which we really enjoyed. Staff very friendly. Onsen downstairs was hot and relaxing.
