Overview
A 7-minute walk from Suginohara Ski Area, Highland Lodge Takegen offers Japanese and Western-style accommodations, free WI-Fi throughout the hotel and drinks vending machines. It’s a 15-minute drive from Kurohime Kogen Snow Park. Free parking and coin lockers are available. Japanese-style rooms have a tatami (woven-straw) floor, on which traditional futon bedding is spread to sleep in. Western-style rooms come with a tatami seating area and beds. All rooms are furnished with a TV, while bathroom facilities are shared. A Japanese or Western meal is available at the dining room for breakfast and dinner, if it’s ordered 2 days in advance. Drinks vending machines are on-site. Guests can enjoy a soothing hot public bath, which is offered separately for men and women. Toiletries are provided, while yukata robes are available for rent. Takegen Highland Lodge is a 10-minute drive from Myoko Kogen Station. The scenic Lake Nojiri-ko is a 25-minute drive away.

The family who run the lodge are gorgeous and go out of their way to help you enjoy your stay. The food in the dining room was lovely for breaky and dinner but needs to be pre-ordered. Really enjoyed the onsen once we realised there were no showers. Excellent location with a short walk to the Romance chair up to the gondalar, ticket sales and rentals. First chair is free if you don't have a ticket yet.

“Perfect”
The hosts are wonderful people. Made me feel very welcome and at home whilst I stayed. They were friendly and kind, helped me and showed me new things. I felt apart of the family whilst I was there. Very well cared for. The facilities were comfortable and clean. I enjoyed the traditional sleeping arrangements. The food was exceptional, I wish I could eat there all day every day. The location was easy to find and was very close to the ski lift. I will absolutely stay again.
