Overview
Located 60 km from the town of Kasane, Muchenje Campsite and Cottages is close to the Ngoma Gate of the Chobe National Park. Muchenje Campsite and Cottages offers three self-catering units, each featuring an open-plan kitchenette that is equipped with an oven, toaster and refrigerator. The units have an en suite bathroom with outdoor shower and a covered veranda with beautiful garden views. Muchenje is located within 63 km of Kasane, which is the nearest large town offering amenities and restaurants, accessed via the national park.

The cottage was very comfortable with everything we needed. It had a nice stoep and an outside shower which I always like. The braai area was good and cleaned daily. Nice deck to watch the sunset

“Fantastic accommodation in Chobe”
The cottages have everything you could need, they are well equipped and they've thought of the small but important details too. The location is fantastic to explore the quieter side of Chobe National Park and has stunning sunsets over the Chobe River Floodplain.

It is a place of great hospitality. Haydn is a wonderful host. The house is well equipped. The location is right next to Chobe National Park. We loved it.

The overcomplete cottage was very nice, also giving us good future options to consider when we go back to this region. You can prepare basically anything at the cottages. The lookout is also great during sunsets down at the marsh.

“Unexpected gem.”
Location was perfect to explore Chobe from the Southern end of the park. Also close to Ngoma Gate which is convienient and there is now a new fuel stop very close by. We stayed in the self-catering but we looked at the campsites and ablutions and they were perfectly sited next to the river and there is a private bathroom per campsite and they are clean as one could hope for and we will camp next time.

“Excellent self catering accommodation close to Chobe National park”
This campsite was recommended to us by other travellers and we were not disappointed as it is an excellent place to stay. The cottages and camp site are located about 15 mins from Ngoma on the Botswana side of the border. We stayed in a self-catering cottage and would describe the facilities as excellent. The cottage had a queen size bed with mosquito net, a sofa which could be used as a bed, a large ensuite bathroom with an outside shower accessed from inside the bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. There is also an outdoor deck and table, and a braai for cooking. The reception has a well stocked shop with food, their own grown produce, and craft items for sale. There is wifi at reception area, plus complimentary tea and coffee, wit the option to buy coffee pods for the coffee machine. Staff were really helpful and organised an early check-in for us – the communication was excellent. The site also has campsites and ‘glamping’ tents, a swimming pool and a deck overlooking the Chobe river. We would definitely stay again.

Extremely friendly and helpful management of the property. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you would need for self catering. Excellent distance to Ngoma Gate to enter Chobe NP if you are not staying inside the park itself.
