“Excellent budget option in a remote part of Tanzania”

We stayed two nights in a family bungalow. Apart from intermittent electricity, which must be expected given the remote location, we were very happy with our stay. Excellent food. Excellent service and attitude. As a budget option it is well placed. It's not easy to get to, so if you are adventurous enough to come then you don't mind the rough roads or limited WIFI, you appreciate the lunar landscape and sacred mountain that could blow at any time.... We liked it.

People, location, trips around: all amazing

Amazing place near the lake with fantastic views on Ol Doinyo Lengai and the rift ! The food was amazing, service, swimming pool and tents also... Everything was perfect !

“Stunningly beautiful, well-managed, magical place”

Beautiful well-maintained oasis in the middle of the (also beautiful) arid landscape at the south end of Lake Natron and with a great view towards Ol Doinyo Lengai. Very friendly and extremely helpful staff, and excellent cooks preparing a very tasty breakfast and dinner. Exceptionally well-behaved, quiet, and friendly dogs and cats keep the area free of small critters (and won't bother you, if you're not a cat/dog person) - while security makes you feel very safe inside the lodge area at night. We didn't try the pool, but that is also clearly kept meticulously fresh and clean. We particularly enjoyed sitting outside in one of the couches after dark enjoying the stunning dark sky stars. A short walk from the lake itself.

“lovely stay”

Had a lovely stay! The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The common area is nice, and both dinner and breakfast were enjoyable. It's a great stopover for visiting the lake, the nearby waterfall, and hiking the volcano—just be aware that the hike is quite challenging!

“Beautiful compound and lodge, but be prepared for the heat”

Beautiful area with mountain views, food was lovely and service was excellent. Their guides really made us feel at home. Make sure to bring insect repellent!

“Hidden fees, new edition”

The area was beautiful and the garden was well-kept. Beds in the tent were comfortable and the shower had pressure (no hot water though). In the end they drove us to the bus stop free of charge!!! At this point, we found it unbelievable (read below)

We booked a tent, so we did not expect anything beyond that. Yet the facilities, especially the shared shower, were at an absolute minimum of acceptability. Besides that, the food was nice, and the staff was comforting. The pool was… well, there is a pool, and at this location, that is itself an achievement.

Qiuet beautiful place, very spacious

Very friendly staff. Nice natural camp managed by local Maasai. We got an upgrade from a tent to a family bungalow because of an exceptional strong wind that occurred in the afternoon. Everything is done for you to have a nice moment at the place.

“Wonderful team, amazing views!”

Absolutely incredible staff - they really made the whole experience amazing. Very warm, fun, played games with us and wonderful energy. Food was simple but always tasty, and the grounds and surrounding area are great!

“Oasis in-between Lake Natron and Ol Doinyo Lenai.”

We had the most wonderful time at our stay in the Maasai Giraffe eco lodge. Unfortunately prior to the stay some issues with our rental car occured and we were lucky to be spending the upcoming night at this place. Marco was our angle who guided us through the process of managing our further steps in order to keep continuing our trip. We were given a free upgrade from tents to bungalows and were treated with incredible kindness and were welcomed as friends. Thank you guys so much for your time, help, patience and efforts. We met as strangers and left as friends. Additionally - delicious, fresh food, nice adventures, friendly staff, clean pool to recover from a long trip. They are having a fire place, where you can spend some time, the drinks are nice and you'll be living in between the lake and the great ol doinyo lengai. Perfect place to stay and would totally recommend it.

“Top place to stay in beautiful Lake Natron”

Our favourite place to stay during our entire trip.in Tanzania. The lodge and the cottages are beautifully designed and well maintained. The scenery around is stunning, the lake and all the crators. You can go to the lake shore, the waterfalls, or hike Oldoinyo Lengai crator. All with a guide and paid for. Food delcious, with meat and veg options. Laundry service available.

The place is incredible—a green oasis nestled within a breathtaking valley, just a short walk from the lake. The team managing the property and hosting guests were very friendly and accommodating, ensuring every need was met with care. The food experience was equally great, with Margaret and Eva preparing delicious meals. A highlight of my visit was exploring the surrounding natural beauty and landscape under the guidance of Kaibu, offering me also valuable insights into the Maasai culture.

The Camp was very special. Everyone there was so welcoming and friendly, could not fault the staff. The food was great. It was like being on a small holding with Cows, dogs ,turkeys, cats !! It was wonderful. The location for the activities was good 👍 We got an upgrade to a room which was great

“Magnificent oasis”

We had the best time with Ingrid and her whole team. They have created this magical oasis in the middle of the desert. Everything that is served on plate is from their farm I really enjoyed the pool that was accessible from 24/7. You should stay here for more than one night and relax and let all the problems let go. Also be kindly noted that it is your duty to include expenses payable to government into your trip as it is stated on website and also send in information when booking this stay.
