The service was great, with few recommendations from the host. We were also able to rent a scooter from the front desk. The kitchen is fully equipped. The location is great, 5 min away from the centre, walking.

Staff we're very flexible and accommodating and very helpful. Great cooking facilities and kitchen space. Cool chill area out the back.

My bank applies unreasonable charges to ATM withdrawals so I specifically choose hostels that accept card payments. Contrary to all HTV online profiles (including this one), they would only take cash and I really didn't want to spend my limited time in Ometepe writing to Booking to get a refund on account of false advertising. However, that means that I also have to review this hostel as though I paid 12 and not 9 USD per night because that is how much I ended up spending. For that money, I could've gotten a place with a pool, bar and other amenities, none of which are available at HTV. Still, on its own merit, the hostel was nice, clean, comfortable, with decent kitchen, good wi-fi (though, sadly, not reaching the garden that would be perfect for remote work), and unlimited filtered water supply. The dorms are excessively hot but otherwise OK.

Lovely and extremely helpful and supportive staff! They advised me on how to get around the island and even offered to take me to the port by motorcycle so I could catch my ferry in the morning. The hostel has a nice terrasse and a very clean and well-equipped kitchen, as well as good fans in the dorm. Definitely recommend!

Very nice staff and lovely place to stay. Price for private room is great, and breakfast included is something we were looking for, pancakes were delicious. Free coffee is also amazing idea.

“Nice family hostel, well worth it.”
The staff were great, kitchen was clean and functional. Nice to have our own fans, lounge area was comfortable and colourful. Nice to be able to rent a scooter right there. Outside area was pretty cool. Always awesome to get breakfast (If you have your own oats or something, ask for just fruit, the lady will give a lot more)

“An unique amazing stay at La Tortuga”
The hostel is very well located close to the city of Moyogalpa, where most of the ferries arrive. The hostel is very nice, colorful and so welcoming. Thumbs very very very up for the lovely staff especially Beatrice who is a sweetheart. I was lucky to get a big room instead of the dorm ( which is quite nice ) and everything was so ok. Breakfast is delicious. Omotepe is such a quiet beautiful place with lush jungle full of animals, birds and amazing beaches. I more than highly recommend this hostel and this island

“The best”
Really amazing hostel super clean comfortable, has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable sofás really nice ,TV with netflix, Hbo, the family who run the hostal are lovely they recommend you the best plan to do. It also has a lots of fans on the dorm super fresh. Would definitely stay again. I recommend it!

The hostal was amazing the staff was so helpful. The owner very frendly my favourite hostal in Nicaragua. The place was clean and confortable the kitchen and the room were amazing. Definitely coming back again. Highly recommend.

“Good value for money”
For the price, it’s good value for money! The guy at reception was very helpful, helped us with booking a moped! The garden is lovely too
