“A gem of a place.”

We had our own cottage and it was wonderful! It was quiet, heaps of space and a great bed and shower. The aircon was very welcome and it was very quiet to operate. I loved how the cottage was surrounded by garden, with a hint of the sunset view from the hammock on the verandah. The pool was also very nice. The staff were friendly and helped organise a kayaking trip and also taxis for us to get around.

This is a fantastic place! It's clean, comfortable and welcoming. Everything is carefully explained so that you can make the most of the environment. The food is excellent, the pool lovely and the rooms have everything you need. The staff are friendly and helpful. We would happily return.

One of the few places in Ometepe with a pool!

Staff were very friendly and helpful with booking things. Food was good and overall facilities were decent for the price and clean. Location was good for getting to/from the ferry and they helped me arrange scooter hire from the hostel so I could get around the island easily. Rooms were very basic but comfortable and completely as expected from the photos.

I loved everything about this place. It was the most relaxing place I stayed during my visit to Nicaragua. The staff were very helpful in arranging a tour of the petroglyphs for me at short notice. The food was great and the gardens and pool were beautiful.

“Hostel with resort vibe❤️”

The whole setting was gorgious, green, lush garden, beatiful pool with lounge chairs. Very quiet, yet close to town. Big dorms. Fantastic granola /yoghurt breakfast with 4 types of fruit. Spaghetti carbonara was great too, as were the sandwiches ❤️

Lovely property with lush garden and good, clean pool in walkable distance to port. Staff was helping with everything, e.g tours (we highly recommend the kayak trip). AC and WiFi was working good at all times. Restaurant ok, books and games available

“Good place, above our expectations”

We stayed 3 nights in bungalow C2 in a nice garden with two good beds. Nicely coloured very large clean room, good airco and lots of lights in the ceiling, good bathroom with shower with warm water. Ideally located, we could walk from and to the ferry. Breakfast - with different opinions- was served in a nice open veranda style place. We also had one evening a good dinner Indian style. A professional reception and a well organised system for additional costs as breakfasts. We certainly would stay again in Soma.

“Idyllic Stay - Very well looked after.”

Was a piece of paradise. Lovely pool and gardens and everything highly maintained. A very spacious room with fan and air-con. A short walk from the port. Great breakfast included. Reception great for arranging tours and scooters etc. to the door. Drinks and food on a tab and pay at the end. Able to use credit card with 4% charge (normal for Nicaragua). Stayed for 6 lovely nights.

“Cute and cozy, private and quiet”

The room was spacious, with AC and hot water. The pool is nice to cool off on a hot day. The location is slightly out of town and I found it to be quiet and peaceful, no loud nighttime noise like when I stayed right in Moyogalpa near the ferry port. They made me a sandwich to take with me on a volcano hike. Overall, it was a cute spot and I was happy with my stay.

I loved the scenery, based within the flowers and trees and birds, with some hammocks, a pool and large terrace. Also, the food was fantastic!! The staff is super nice and helpful and makes you feel home. The hostel is very well structured and organized! I love the proximity to the city, so theoretically you wouldn't even need a scooter!

“Excellent stay in a beautiful compound with great staff”

Hospedaje Soma exceeded our expectations in every way! George, the host, was prompt in answering any questions prior to our stay. We booked an ATV through the hotel to explore Ometepe island - the company they partner with is professional, has well maintained ATV and even clean helmets! The ATV was delivered to us by professional staff who took time to explain & demonstrate how to operate it. Our room was spacious, very clean, good air conditioner and great beddings. The hotel serves excellent shakes or smoothies, meals and even homemake ice cream. Their chocolate ice cream is rich & creamy! We ate out while ATV-ing the island, so we were able to compare the food quality. Seriously, Hospedaje Soma's kitchen serves even better quality meals for about the same price !The hotel compound is so beautifully landscaped and there are many birds around. Hospedaje Soma greatly enhances our Ometepe's experience!

“Best in class hostel”

Must be the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Great staff, fabulous fabulous including a lovely pool, large well equipped private rooms and food as good as anywhere in town. Couldn't fault anything
