“Highlight of the trip!”

We had an incredible stay at Blue EmOcean, and it was definitely the highlight of our trip! Andy, the owner, was fantastic from start to finish, always incredibly responsive and helpful with anything we needed before and during our stay. Mathias, our dive guide/instructor, was amazing. He is so friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. He took us to some of the best dive sites we’ve ever experienced. All the staff at Blue Em and on moyo island in general, were so welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help, which made the experience even more special. The food was also exceptional! We couldn’t recommend Blue EmOcean highly enough and I’ll hopefully be coming back later in the year for more diving :)

“Paradise!”

I did a 2,5 months tour in Indonesia, spended time in more than 30 places and I'll only review 2 of them, one of which is Blue EmOcean. This journey was the highlight of my stay! My partner joined me for the last 2.5weeks and being in Mojo previously during my tour I knew what to expect of the Island. When we arrived, we fell directly in love with this place, far from the village, located in the jungle and having a pristine coral reef we felt like being on our own exclusive little paradise. We've been welcomed by Andrew, Matthias and the rest of the family, consisting of 1 puppy and mother stray-dog, a teckel, a cat and a tortoise. The locals working there were very kind (like most of the Indonesians I met!), not very proficient in English but hey, We're on an Island in Indonesia! If you're able to look through the imperfections of some constructions, which, some previous reviewers complained about (By the way, It's not rated as a 5-star hotel!), You'll find a real hidden gem. The rooms are decent, good bed and yes, there are geckos present, For us this place was perfect, diving in wonderfull corals, waterfalls, nature,monkey's roaming the garden (afraid of humans) .....having spended 7 nights in a 5-star hotel previously and a 7- nights stay here, we were glad to leave the 5-star, but we coud have easily stayed here for much longer than 7 nights!

The property is absolutely stunning, set in lush gardens and far from any other resort, making it so peaceful. Lying on the decking at night looking up at the sky you can see incredible constellations as there is zero light pollution. The resort is the perfect place to hang out with friends, either by the pool or in the large social bar/dining space. The staff are super friendly (one of the girls lent me her scooter to visit the waterfalls!) and they cook delicious meals - we ate breakfast lunch and dinner at Blue Emocean every day for a week and never got tired of the options (the curries are particularly delicious!) The host, Andrew, is extremely knowledgeable of the island and the underwater world, and he speaks excellent Indonesian meaning that even the slightest problem can be fixed in no time (for example, I was running late for my ferry back to Sumbawa and Andrew called the ferry captain to ask him to wait for me!) I would highly recommend diving with Andrew, I felt very safe, the equipment was in perfect condition and I can’t put into words how beautiful the corals/marine life is in Moyo!

The diving is amazing. Andrew, the owner of the resort is a great guy. He organizes everything in a great way. They made us a big fish dinner, with a travelly. Very nice! We went to the whalesharks at Sumbawa, great experience! The resort is in the jungle. Lifetime experience.

The rawness and nature.

“For serious nature loving SCUBA Divers”

The diving. One of the best Dive locations I have been to. Andrew and Andrea are outstanding instructors/guides. You will see the most pristine coral, incredible macro and big marine animals. If you are just a novice diver or wanting to sample diving be honest about your experience level with Andrew before you book to see if you're up for the challenge. This resort is set up for serious divers who appreciate what's under water and have simple needs when out of the water. If you want all the luxuries and comforts of a Seminyak or Canggu villa, then go to Seminyak Canggu, this place is not for you, Plenty of food options for every meal at the restaurant. WiFi in the restaurant lounging area but not bedrooms. The resident kid goat Muffin 🐐 absolutely stole my heart, as did her sister cat and puppy dachsund. This resort is off the beaten track, so if you're looking for simplicity and raw natural beauty, this is it.

“Secluded place for the adventurous among you!”

Spacious room with airco and enough plugs to charge your phone, divelights, etc. The place still needs some work, but it looks very promising, so keep up the good work! A lot of interesting tours are offered and of course there is a divecenter on site. Our pleasant host Andrew did his very best to make us comfortable and we had great dives together. Food is very good and freshly prepared by the nice girls in the kitchen.

“Hidden Gem in Moyo”

The place is far from village and offers privacy and isolation. The owner is doing a fabulous job in terms of keeping this place clean and active. He gave us some great tips on places to explore and was more than ready to customize the food being prepared as we were vegetarian.

Everything we needed! You will never regret booking a room here. We felt very welcomed the moment we arrived and our whole stay on the island was am adventure we will never forget. From diving in this beautiful lively part of the ocean, visiting the waterfalls to stay staying and relaxing at the beautiful hotel and.enjoying their amazing food- we just loved it all! Andrew, Anne and their staff are amazing and help you with everything. You really can feel their poor their heart in it! We will never forget our dive at "Rocktopussi" 😋

We loved everything about Blue Emocean. The ambience, the setting, sooo peaceful and relaxing. Staff were delightful and nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious. Loved Frankie the delightful deer; Dotsie the darling Daschund and Meow the magnificent mother-to-be. Our wonderful hosts were first class.

“Remote little paradise”

Beautiful remote paradise. For the bit more adventurous among us. Very welcome and relaxed atmosphere,beautiful surroundings, amazing reef in front of the resort, most (child)friendly staff, really good food and a pet dog, cat and deer around all day. We would love to come back one day.

Our hosts at Blue Emocean, Andrew and Anne, are a credit to the tourism industry in Indonesia, from their ongoing efforts to mitigate any negative impacts that come with running a resort through to their restoration work on the local environment, and their commitment to promoting sustainability whereever possible. Their pets Frank the young rescue deer, Dotty the miniature dachshund and Meow the cat provided much humor. The resort is in a stunning location, about fifty minutes stroll or a short motorbike ride from the village and port. A great place to relax and forget all about the stresses of life back home. The availability of cold beers was much appreciated. Various tours including diving, snorkeling and waterfall trips can be arranged by Andrew and Anne, or you can snorkel out in front of the resort.

Very nice place with a fantastic House Reef. Our children loved the place with all the animals, especially Franky the Hotel deer and the lovely dog Dotty. Andrew and Anne organized cool trips, both on land and on sea. Very friendly hotel staff and excellent food. We loved the time in Blue Emocean and hope to come back sometime in the future to this natur paradise.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything so much we booked a few more days to take on all on offer and to really enjoy the peace and tranquillity. With small kids we had test days between the adventures on land & sea. Moyo has a lot to offer and Andrew & Anne are delightful, helpful & super informed hosts marshalling a kind and friendly staff at the kitchen where we all ate & drank happily. The house reed is excellent & they’re landscaping a beautiful garden around the pool & acconidation. Best if all is the whole place is built under the shade of tropical trees with the jungle right behind. This provides enough shade is the ocean breezes drop which thankfully for us, did not during our stay. Many thanks again & we will be back.

The remote location on Moyo island meant there were some challenges for the owners in property maintenance and food supply, however the friendliness of the staff and general helpful attitude to looking after guests more than compensated. Every effort was made to provide gluten free options once requirements were explained.

Blue EmOcean was a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. Andrew and Anne were responsive to our enquiries from initial booking and very helpful in arranging transport to the accommodation. Staff made seeing the sights very easy with adventures to waterfalls, nearby snorkelling spots and island trips, for a fair price. Blue EmOcean is located a couple of kms north of the nearest village, immediately on the beach with a pristine coral reef, a garden full of beautiful endemic butterflies, monkey visitors in the early morning and a resident deer and sausage dog. The restaurant had great vegetarian options on the menu, with consistently high quality and delicious meals. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet with high quality sheets and beautiful furnishings. I would highly recommend Blue EmOcean to anyone considering a trip to Moyo, you will be wonderfully looked after and enjoy one of the most beautiful and remote corners of the world.

“Be proactive in this paradise”

Andrew has embarked on a passion project to bring this resort back from the almost dead and you can’t but admire the effort and ambition (and investment and sweat to do so). Moyo is already hard to get to, the motorbike from the jetty is 5km of diminishing quality and increased excitement (or anxiety depending on your mindset) but the remote pay off worth it - small pool, cold beer, nice food, great rooms (with gecko), private jetty and house reef, dive trips arranged, some kit available too.
