Overview
Located next to Mt. Lavina Beach, Ranveli Beach Resort is a 5-minute drive from Odel Mt. Lavina Shopping Centre. It offers free parking, a restaurant and rooms with an en suite bathroom. Rooms at Ranveli offer a choice of fans or air conditioning. All rooms feature wooden furnishings, tiled flooring, and a private bathroom with cold shower. Some rooms have cable TV and a hot shower. Guests can relax with a barbecue by the beach. The resort provides currency exchange and safety deposit boxes at the front desk. Travel and sightseeing bookings can be made at the tour desk. Sunset Beach Restaurant serves a variety of local and international dishes. Room service is also available upon request. Resort Ranveli is a 15-minute drive from the National Zoological and Botanical Garden, and 8 km from Colombo City.

Expected a lot and went into this place but very awful and filthy place .. I only stayed couple of hours and checked out even though booked for 5 days and lost the money .. environment is very dirty and the staffs are not pleasant or helpful.. to be honest no one was there in the hotel except us that day.. I think everyone get disappointed and check out straight away ..

“not bad but not good”
water supply was very bad and the bathroom was smelly, i know as its beach, iron rusts really quick but it needs to be cleaned. and no water or tea making facilities

“Very Beautiful place and very Mystical”
The place is really beautiful and very closed to Mount Lavinia hotel and just at the beach front, there is a swimming pool and it is a very quite place to rest and get away to retreat and chill

“READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING”
For those who enjoy torturing themselves, you are in luck, this will be your ideal accommodation. I left the hotel early and had to find another one because my companion and I couldn’t take it anymore. I don’t even know how to start the review, so I’ll break it down into points: 1. The room has air conditioning, but they are so “kind” that they don’t even give you the remote to turn it on. We asked the guy who stays at the hotel overnight, and besides the fact that he had trouble understanding us, I used a translator and he just said no, no, no. 2. The Wi-Fi seems to be from the Middle Ages, it literally doesn’t work, or at least it didn’t reach our room. 3. The shower faucet was broken, THERE WAS NO HOT WATER in the shower, and the water pressure was miserable, only a few drops came out, not enough to rinse the soap from your hair. 4. The walls were moldy, and the room smelled bad. 5. The facilities are terrible, and everything is in poor condition. 6. The towels we were given were dirty. The only good thing I could say about this hotel is how pleasant the staff is, but that’s true throughout the country, as everyone in Sri Lanka is very friendly. I could go on, but I’d rather not waste any more time thinking about this hotel, let alone writing this review. In conclusion, I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation to my worst enemy, and I think it’s overpriced even though it’s cheap. Without a doubt, the worst place I have ever stayed in my entire life, and I have traveled a lot.
