“Authentic & value for money”

We were sent a link to see the street view of the accommodation and parking area, which was free and right in front. Accommodation was clean and had everything we needed including wifi. Great location, only about a 10-15min walk to the main street at the top of the mountain. Views were lovely. Quirky place. Access is a bit tricky though if you have a suitcase. Steep stairs and cobblestone paths lead from the parking area straight to the door of the accommodation.

“The most atmospheric and unusual accommodation.”

We stayed 3 nights in “Casetta Melon”, which is a fully renovated 3 level 17th century house, with all the atmosphere and uniqueness of such a period property. Both the ground floor (kitchenette, bathroom and seating for 2) and the 1st floor (lounge room and TV) had there own individual entrances. The 2nd floor (level 3) was the main bedroom with good cupboard space. Internally there was a narrow staircase from the ground floor to the 1st floor and then from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor. It was convenient to wheel our 2 travel bags and store them via the upper entrance (2nd floor), so as to avoid trying to navigate the narrow staircase. The property was well appointed, with benchtop range, oven, fridge and washing machine. Visiting the bathroom overnight does involve going down a total of 20 steps - you are wide awake for the return trip (ha ha). We left 2 lights on overnight to light up the stairway, just for added safety. Wi-Fi good, plenty of hot water and a TV in the lounge room. Outside both entrances is a small stone patio with a table and 2 seats. Host was very accommodating and we did an early check in. Parking, which is a problem when staying at Motovun, was terrific. We had a dedicated spot 20 metres from the property, even though it involved 42 steps to the roadway. It was a 10 minute walk uphill to the town centre either by following the road or using the back alleyway.

“Charming old house in a beautiful town”

I liked the charming feel to this place. Very old building. It was very quiet and very comfortable. Beautiful views. Well stocked kitchen. Very clean and a good bed. Also the free parking on the street below was very convenient.

“Old stone house”

A house located half way up the hill with small terrace. It had all facilities we needed including a washer machine. There was parking nearby.

Good location in a beautiful city. Parking lot allocated to the accommodation and from there roughly 50 meters up on stairs and steep hillside with cobble stones. Tiny nice 3-storey old house with good atmosphere. The owner, Livio, is very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend his restaurant - Pod Napun - by the medieval city wall with breathtaking view from the terrace whilst enjoying your excellent food at a better price and service than highstreet restaurants. Motovun is an amazing town.

This is an absolutely wonderful opportunity to stay in a small, three-storey traditional Istrian property - small windows, thick walls, traditional furniture. The host, Livio, is clearly dedicated to preserving traditional Istrian culture and that's great. He and his wife were also kind - I found a cake for me one day. And most appreciated was the lift to my destination on a public holiday when I would otherwise have been stuck. Motovun is a very special destination - and the views over the vineyards and hills beyond is truly beautiful. It has become one of my favourite places.

“Probably the most perfect place to stay in Motovun”

Beautiful three level apartment in a traditional, renewed old house. Clean, very cozy, functional, has everything you might need during your stay, fantastic view from the windows and the little terrace. Perhaps one of the simplest solutions when it comes to parking in the entire town, the parking place is on the main road right beneath the house.

“Tiny Stone House with Rustic Charm”

I had an absolutely enchanting stay at this tiny stone house! The rustic furniture and inviting ambience added a unique charm, and the cleanliness of the space was impeccable. The small terrace in front of the house was a lovely spot to relax. Being dog-friendly with private parking under the olive tree was a fantastic bonus. The host's welcoming nature made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

I loved this little house and can't wait to go back! It was even more beautiful than on the photos and perfect for 3 people. The owner was very responsive and gave us clear instructions on how to reach the parking. It was wonderful to have coffee in the morning in such beautiful surroundings 😊

Absolutely stylish rustic and comfortably furnished house, everything available. The beds comfortable, in the kitchen everything was needed. Pleasant sitting in front of the house and a step from the historic center. This house was a great choice and I just regret that we didn't stay longer.

A very charming 300 year old house spread over 3 floors. Private parking space, wonderful traditional furniture and a delightful small terrace to enjoy breakfast or an evening drink on. Great to have a washing machine also.

“Authentic Istrian Experience”

We enjoyed every moment in the lovely stone house, which is typical of the area. The house is very clean and its facilities are very good - you can find all the equipment you need for living in it for a while. The kitchen is fully equipped and you can find in it all the things you need for cooking and eating, as well as cooking oil and some spices. The house has 3 floors: kitchen, dining table and bathroom at the ground floor; couch and TV at the first floors; bedroom at the second floor. The small terrace is in front of the ground floor door - we enjoyed it very much in the mornings and evenings. A/C and boiler and working very good. The host, who was very hospitable, welcomed us at the parking spot. The distance from the parking place to Casetta Melon is quite short (about three floors). The distance to Motovun central plaza - a walk of 10/20 minutes. Very good value for money. I would like to stay at Casetta Melon every time I travel to Motovun and its surroundings.
