“Not a rally nice place”

The hotel has only a few rooms, and during our stay only two were in service, which made it very quiet. The view from the bar area is beautiful, overlooking the beach. The location is great, with a coastline that is still quite undeveloped, and there are some really nice beaches nearby that remain natural and peaceful

Amazing gem in the middle of the jungle. Lodges are embedded in nature. One morning the howler monkeys were all over the place. We went for a kayak trip amidst the mangroves. Perfect combination for water and nature lovers. The food is top quality. Cari and Ryan support some nature preserving projects. Cari is the Dian Fossey for the Azuero Mantle-Backed howler monkeys, an endemic species that is almost extinct. We also participated in a baby sea turtle release. As we are bird lovers we were thrilled to see 7 toucans in the nearby environment in one of the few panama trees that are left at the pathway to get to the lodge.

Morrillo Beach Eco Resort is such an outstanding Place! In every Detail you feel the Soul of Cari & Ryan and they both do all they can to make your stay an amazing experience. We love the unique location, situated Directly at the river, the ocean and in the jungle. The beaches are amazing - Most of the time we had them for our own. Right in Front the eco Resort is the river where you can visit the magical mangroves by SUP or Kayak. We loved the authentic food (there is not a big Choice, but remember where you are and what‘s the intent oft an eco resort :-) ). Everything is freshly cooked and tastes so good! Directly on the Resort area lives a troop of howler Monkeys which are so cool to observe while your stay because it‘s Not such a Kind of Zoo but Their Natural habitat. Make sure to read Cari‘s Blog on the Website, which is very informative - you won‘t need a Travel Guide any more ;-). All in all it was an amazing stay on a stunning Place with heartwarming Hosts. Cari and Ryan managed to integrate their beautiful resort into the surrounding nature/jungle, and they clearly created and maintained a friendly habitat for numerous animal species around (howler monkeys, toucans, tree crabs, amongst many others). We greatly appreciated how they evidently add something highly valuable to the community around, since they enable truly positive communication and exchange between locals and tourists, who get to experience this region of Panama very authentically. We are also grateful that our dietary preferences (vegetarian/vegan) were accommodated - we are aware this is not always the case! If you need more proof of how positive this place is, you can take one look at their dog, Princessa, rescued from the beach some years ago - that‘s a happy dog and this says a lot about the owners as well :) We are happy to have stayed at Morillo Beach Eco Resort!

“A unique place you wont find often”

Really beautiful small hotel in a unique and peaceful location. While the drive is long, it is worth it and you get to experience being in a jungle with howler monkeys, lots of birds, squirrels, butterflies as well as the most beautiful endless beach. Cari and her husband put a lot of care and thought into the hotel and really look after each guest. The food is outstanding - there isn't a large choice which is understandable, but everything is locally sourced and home made and we had some of our best meals there, as well as the best gin and tonic! Overall this has been one of the nicest hotels we stayed in. For the best stay, make sure to follow Cari's instructions and understand that this is a jungle setting, so there will be some insects and you will get woken up by the howler monkeys (but then if you are to be woken up, being woken up by nature is the nicest way :) We wish we could give bonus points for her pets, the friendliest dog Princessa and cutest, little kitty Tila.

“Gorgeous Hideaway”

Beautiful place in the nature, stunning view of the bay, delicious food, very nice hosts and team, well equipped for water sports and offer great tours. Lovely hideaway.

“Beautiful view, nature perserved, quiet, surf, very good food, monkeys, adorable staff”

Very good organic, natural and local food. I loved the shampoo and soap home made without plastic. The bedroom is spacious and comfortable. The surf spot was perfect. The view is amazing and we saw monkeys from our table during breakfast. Nicest staff in Panama.

“Great stay with relaxed but attentive hosts….”

Great location, standup and surfboards can be rented. Ryan also does tours (..he with the wave-foil) to other spots within a short drive …. Could also be interesting for kiters, windsurfers or wingsurfers in a more Windy season - with the foil in any case. The area has not yet been developed in this regard. but there could something going on… Very pleasant and attentive staff.

Carrie and Ryan’s place is the kind of place you don’t want to write reviews about, because you want to keep it to yourself. And as a matter of fact we had it for ourselves for 3 beautiful and unforgettable days). This place is a gem : in the middle of the jungle, with a very rich biodiversity right at your doorstep. The hosts and personnel are the kindest and are very careful about your well being (and very aware about the need to protect and preserve the nature surrounding this place). If you surf, this place is more than ideal. I won’t spoil any longer, but don’t hesitate if you plan to stay a few days in Morrillo. Thank you Carrie and Ryan for the hospitality and the long talks, we will come back very soon !! PS : you don’t want to miss the food there, and Ryan’s homemade beer !!

Everything was great (except maybe the wifi but you can’t expect hi-speed internet in the jungle). Very close to two amazing surf breaks. The jungle feeling. Cari’s mexican food. Ryan’s home-brewed beers. Will definitely be back.

“A great adventure in Morrillio”

We had such a great time in Morrillio Beach Eco resort. It's one of these places that you don't get to see a lot. Special,caring, and just wonderful. Cari is a great chef and Ryan is the best beer brewer. A perfect stay indeed.

“Remote place with a perfect beach to start surfing”

I’ve enjoyed the remoteness and the jungle feeling. The beach nearby is perfect for every beginner that wants to surf.

“Magical jungle and surf experience”

We’re absolutely blown away by this place. The first thing that comes to mind: EVERYONE should go there once in a lifetime (or better as many times as possible)! The place is situated magically between jungle and beach, you can surf, kayak, hike and standup paddle in their „front yard“. We recommend to move a lot because Cari and her super sweet kitchen team is going to spoil you rotten with healthy and incredible tasty food. She is so passionate about cooking and food it’s a real treat to listen to her. Ryan brews delicious craft beer which my husband was absolutely delighted about. There’s definitely something for everyone! The rooms are huge and super comfy, they really thought of everything. Everyone is happy to work there and it’s a real family vibe. You’re going to see and hear howler monkeys, other wildlife and beautiful flowers and plants in their lush surroundings. We enjoyed every moment of our stay, we came as guests and left as friends ä- already planning when to come back!

This is a paradise in the middle of nowhere! Real jungle experience and an ocean lagoon! Very friendly owners and a lot of possibilities to enjoy the nature (waterfalls, kayaking, surfing)
