“A place that instantly feels like home”

Staying at Tototo was one of the really wholesome moments on my trip in Northern Japan. Not only is the guesthouse a lovely, super clean and a beautifully designed space (and the traditional Japanese tatami floor setup which was pretty cool) the owner Dela San really puts his heart and soul into the place. He really made sure I had a wonderful time at the guesthouse. There was a very nice bunch of Japanese and foreign guests staying at the guesthouse at the time of my stay and I spent some quality time chatting with them. I do think the reason people were opening up to each other was also partly due to the cozy setting. The social gatherings were really lovely, on Sunday evening we made takoyaki at the social area and had a super nice time chatting away, and on Monday morning we went out for a lovely walk with coffee and pastries from the local bakery. It was super cozy but not only that, Dela San showed me some unique spots in Morioka that were inspiration for scenes in Jujutsu Kaisen - that was really really cool. Thank you so much for the unforgettable experience in Tototo, I really hope I can come back again one day.

Tototo’s a cute machiya which locates on a machiya street. Mr Dera is sure helpful and friendly to chat about where to go around the area. We had a really good time there during Christmas and not feeling homesick! Would like to visit again in the future!

Very nice host, good environment.

I had a great and pleasant stay in the guesthouse. In the beginning, all the times and rules are explained, as well what you can do in the town. Really helpful owner, with a lot of insights and details on you planned activities or if you still don't know what to do. With the open kitchen at the living/entrance area, it was even a social stay with lots of nice conversations and stories.

Great hostel. We cooked hot pot with the owner. And went on a morning walk together.

Great host running a very hospitable and well-equipped guesthouse. He even goes out of his way organizing dinner and walking tours with the host. It's definitely a place with a big heart.

The guest house person in charge give a very clear induction for check in, as well as the rules and regulation for all guests. Room is clean and overall the vibes is good

A Unique Stay at “Tototo” – A Place for Encounters and Collaboration I stayed at Tototo, a guesthouse whose name comes from the Japanese word meaning “And” in English. The concept is beautiful: creating a space where people can meet and collaborate. What I especially appreciated: • Instead of tap water, you can drink natural well water from Morioka – in fact, two different kinds, freely available for guests to collect. • The building has great character, as it was built by reusing wood from older traditional houses. • The owner is very kind and welcoming, which made my stay feel warm and personal. • Compared to other guesthouses, this one sets high standards for cleanliness and hygiene, so everything feels very well maintained. • The location is excellent, with restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance. Overall, Tototo is not just accommodation, but a place where you can truly feel the spirit of connection and community. Highly recommended.

Super clean and an excellent host. He has routines dialled down to a T to make your stay feel great. If this hostel was available everywhere in Japan, I’d stay in it in every prefecture.

It was a very special experience. He was very helpful and kind. Many signs help to learn the rules of the house. I liked it. Its VERY clean! IMPORTANT: this is no party hostel. The rooms are well designed, but loud talking can be an issue. So you have to respect the rules of the house :) I will come again at my next visit to Morioka.

Dela was such an amazing host. He was so hands on and guides the guests thoroughly. The place was pristine clean and organised.
