Demeure de la Garenne felt like stepping into a fairytale — the property has the grandeur of a castle, and every detail matched that first impression. Our room was beautifully appointed, but what truly set it apart were the thoughtful touches: the bathroom featured natural, carefully chosen products, and they even provided reusable microfiber pads for makeup removal — a small but genuinely lovely detail. Breakfast was a highlight in itself. Rather than the usual buffet, it was prepared fresh once we were seated in the dining room, entirely tailored to what we felt like that morning — the kind of personalised hospitality that’s increasingly rare and makes you feel genuinely looked after.

We were welcomed by Cecile into her beautiful villa. We immediately felt at home, enveloped by the warmth of the rooms and the helpfulness of the owners. We enjoyed a delicious dinner with typical products in the villa's living room overlooking the endless vineyards, and we finished with an excellent breakfast together with the other guests of the estate. An experience to be repeated, and we highly recommend it! Thank you, Cecile!

A warm welcome. Lovely views. Watched kestrels diving in the front field. Host provided a delicious, authentic French dinner with wine. Comfy, cosy cabin. Recommended!

Demeure de la Garenne feels like home away from home. Beautifully situated in the peaceful countryside, it has a mix between historic restoration and modern comforts. The host is very nice and welcoming and speaks several languages. The breakfast and dinner (upon booking) tastes very good and is thoughtfully picked out per day. If you have any questions, the host is quick to answer and helpful. Montmirail is a picturesque town that is strategically situated among several noteworthy locations, and within an hour of driving you have many options while maintaining the relaxing base in the countryside.

“Beautiful, peaceful stay in the champagne region”

We stayed in the chalet with 2 beds upstairs. It was well kitted out and provided a very relaxing 2 days on our journey through France. The breakfast and basket dinner were delicious and delivered to our Châlet. We also enjoyed the pool and general quietness of the stay. I think it would be possibly better with younger children as our nearly adult boys found the beds and sloping ceilings less comfortable and there was only one comfortable chair to sit in on the decking but for 2 nights this wasn’t a big issue (there was a 4 poster bed to lounge on in the gardens!) and overall we had a lovely stay and drinking champagne watching the sunset was perfect.

The peaceful setting is perfect for relaxation. The whole property and gites are decorated to a high standard and smell AMAZING - like a spa but better. Breakfast is exceptional, we didn’t try the lunch or dinner options but I’m sure they would have been equally good. The pool is comfortably heated and in a beautiful setting. We were made to feel welcome by the lovely host and despite the luxurious vibe didn’t feel like we were out of place or a nuisance as a family with lively children. Everything was great and I would 100% return and recommend to friends.

Location in Champagne close to prominent vineyards is really great. The house is nicely renovated with a lovely old world charm. The weather was cool, so didn’t dip in the pool, but it seemed nice.
