“Simply marvellous!”

Exceptionally clean! Very comfortable with extra amenities - small sink unit with coffee maker, microwave, fridge, kettle, crockery and cutlery, dining table and chairs for two, sofa bed. Imaginative decor (bathroom washbasin 😀). Secure parking through archway behind house, and outside seating in pretty, well tended garden. Isabellle is a friendly and attentive host who provided an abundant and delicious continental breakfast that included homemade items. It was a pleasure to stay there. The apartment is situated in a quiet, one way street in the centre of the small, historic town of Montlucon which has a variety of restaurants (El Padre: excellent pizza and superb salad). Its proximity to the motorway makes Charmes a convenient and delightful stopover point. Telephone Isabelle on arrival at the property as she lives a short way along the road and needs to come to meet you.

It was a very well thought out property, beautifully decorated and charming, with all needs catered for. The secure parking was very welcome and the garden a delight. Breakfast was wonderful.

In a quiet side street just off the centre. Very good/excellent in just about everything. Superb continental breakfast (could only be improved by being offered [say] scrambled or poached eggs and bacon with hot toast). In B&B terms the best - 4 2/3 out of 5 stars. Excellent.

“Fantastic place to stay if you have to go to Montluçon”

We stayed here for one night on our way south. The parking was through a secure gate in the back garden. The room was lovely. It had plenty of space and a small kitchenette with coffee and tea provided. The shower was good as well. We didn’t use the outside space, but imagine it would be a nice place to sit and relax in the summer. Our hostess was lovely and the breakfast provided was excellent with home produce offered. Location was excellent for waking into the old town. If you have to stay in Montluçon then we would very definitely recommend staying here

Amazing. A hidden gem.

We liked everything. How could you not give this 10! I'd give it 20 if I could! Lovely room with some quirky touches. Every detail was perfect with little extras, (like makeup removal pads), delightful room perfume, and a useful fridge. Isabelle is really welcoming and provides a beautiful breakfast, daintily presented and with delicious local produce, which we were able to eat on her delightful garden terrace. It was a very short stroll into the lovely centre, and the castle illuminations were breathtaking.

Beautiful property, well situated near the old town. Isabelle was very kind and the breakfast was wonderful . Loved the quirky touches like the bicycle in the bathroom.

We self-catered for breakfast because local shops were within a five minutes walk. Location was excellent, with good, free parking nearby.
