“Highlight of my France discovery”
My two nights in Montignac were the highlight of a. 10 night roadtrip of regional France. Jean-Phillipe was an exceptional host, attentive to my needs and respectful of my privacy. My 'room' was an upstairs wing of the house including three bedrooms, toilet and separate bathroom, with dual hand basins, a large bath tub and great water pressure. Off this was access to a reading room, communal kitchen and outdoor balconies in the shade of ancient pine trees. Breakfast was exceptional and abundant with pastries, bread, juices, condiments and hot beverages of choice. The house is furnished throughout with antique furniture built for comfort, including the beds. The host, JP, is an expert on the Lascaux caves and gave valuable advice on how to experience the museum as well as local sites to swim in the Leveres River, and great local restaurants for wine, tapas and live jazz ensembles. It felt like a week crammed into two days. Thanks, Jean-Phillipe!

A friendly and casual overnight stay in a lovely village; an old-style B&B in a former farm-house, slightly ramshackle, slightly chaotic but comfortable and welcoming with a great breakfast, at the edge of town but it's a small place and the centre is a pleasant and picturesque five to ten minute walk.

“Great hotel for cave lovers!”
The owner of this hotel is very nice. He is secialized in prehistoric archaeology. So, when I consult about cave arts, he taught me a lot of knowledge and helped me to go to a cave. The rood was clean enogh. In the hotel, there is no wifi but he took me to another place which has wifi

“Very relax stay to visit the Caves”
Breakfast was amazing and all with products from the area. The place is very close to the Caves and there are a lot of books about the caves and prehistoric art.

a real taste of the Dordogne. a beautiful quaint property located in a quiet area but only walking distance to the center of Lascaux Montignac. a spacious room with beautiful views. an incredibly friendly host. so accommodating and Knowles able of the area and pre-historic history in the area. so welcoming with his beautiful cats. you walk of fresh to the dawn here. superb breakfast for any traveler. exceptional value for money.

“I felt like I was staying with a friend of mine. very generous, kind, and hospitable host coupled with a comfortable hom”
this was single handedly the best place I have ever stayed as a solo travelled through Europe. I am not exaggerating. the owner is the most generous man I’ve ever met. when I was stranded in a nearby town he called me a tact because I do not speak French. the bed was super comfortable, property was clean, and breakfast was a feast. highly recommend.
