“Beautiful hotel with it's own waterfall!”

Overall this hotel was great. The rooms were clean and comfy, the breakfast was very good and the hotel has access to a beautiful waterfall and a hanging bridge which we spent a bit of time at. The view from the bedroom was also amazing. They had the extra little touches in the bedroom and the towels smelled so good. There's a very chill vibe here I enjoyed my stay very much. Also it's close to the town of Montezuma. I think this was our favourite hotel that we stayed in Costa Rica.

“The location to the waterfall, the view from our window, and going in low season made it amazing!”

We really enjoyed staying at Sunshine Sanctuary. The view from our bedroom was beautiful, we could see the ocean and the canopy of the forest. Saw more lightning from that window in one week than in my entire life. What was really special about the location was the access to the local waterfall trail. We could get to the 2nd and 3rd waterfall in 5 minutes, and sometimes have the whole pool to ourselves! On the last day at the waterfall we saw two Blue Morpho Butterflies! Since we went in the low season, we had the community kitchen, dining area, pool, and yoga deck basically all to ourselves, so it felt very luxurious. And when there were guests, they were fun to talk to. The staff was nice and friendly, and the breakfast was different tasty and different every day. You'll definitely want a car to get here, as it's remote and up a super steep hill. However, the Imago Brewery is on the same driveway as the hotel, and is well worth a visit, they have good food and a butterfly sanctuary.

“Magical place with direct access to the Montezuma waterfall”

What an amazing place! From the moment we arrived we were in awe! It sits o n top of Montezuma in the middle of nature, with its own hanging bridge and entrance to the waterfalls! We stayed in the two bedroom apartment with living room and kitchen, with amazing views of the mountains and the ocean. The house was also beautifully designed. When we arrived we went directly to the waterfall and since it was the end of the day we had the big waterfall all to ourselves which felt like a present. The next day we walked all the way to playa Grande which is a 30 min walk from Montezuma but totally worth it. The walk itself takes you over beaches and little trails and once at the beach we were almost alone! It was also a safe beach to swim, or at least that day. Breakfast at the house was good and the staff very kind and helpful. We also had our laundry done which was ready in a few hours.

This is the most perfect stay in Montezuma - the best part is breakfast with a sea view and rooms with amazing views as well - true paradise

“Cute hotel, but get a top-floor room if you want any peace and quiet.”

I really wanted to love this place, and I mostly did. The staff was nice, the cooks made really yummy breakfasts, I enjoyed the "private" path to the waterfalls (with lots of monkeys!), great views from the breakfast area and patios, and an awesome private suspension bridge shortcut into town (still a steep hillclimb back, mind you.. I enjoyed the exercise, but people that can't handle a moderate hike will need a car).

The room had a great view of the ocean and a large balcony. The lounge chairs by the pool were nice.

The room was very comfortable, great bed and air con. , fridge and coffee maker, and a great balcony. The breakfast was great and the restaurant area had a very nice view and was very sociable. Anastacia was super welcoming. Highly recommend.

“It’s okay”

It is an experience to stay in the heart of the jungle. We could hear the waterfall, saw a lot of animals walking around and the views were excellent.

Breakfast was excellent; every day something different. I loved the fresh fruit. The muesli was nice but a little burnt. The hanging bridge was fun and great to have a short cut into town.

“Great place in montezuma”

Excellent big room in montezuma. A bit off the centre but in a very scenic location. I loved the hanging bridge and also the patio for the breakfast.

Some employees working in building right below where we were staying, starting throwing rocks at 7am every morning .

“Beautiful view. Challenging for the less agile.”

The staff was wonderful. They did everything possible to make me (83years old) comfortable. Breakfast was brought to our apartment as I was not able to access the breakfast area. This is a great place if you are young and agile. If not, stay somewhere else. I was also heppy that we were only charged for the one night that we stayed, and that the staff found another place for us.

On the hill with a view. Clean and quiet, and we booked the king bed, which was super comfy! Breakfast with the view is a must!

“Amazin and luxurious bein in nature/jungle/close to waterfall too”

The view and the balcony, the bridge, the yummie breakfast, the waterfall, the pool and the spacial room and shower space. Happy n friendly staff. Also adored the coffee maker in the room. Adorable! And appreciate gettin like three towels per person (one mini). Actually possible to walk to Montezuma though the hills are veryveryvery steep

“Changes needed to put this place back to life!”

The place is nice. You can reach the waterfalls, directly from it (~ 10 min). It has a nice hanging bridge and a wonderful view to the sunset and the sea. Quite far to the beach, but has a small and nice pool to refresh. Very nice place where you take breakfast (included in the room price). You can walk down to the city or take a car, as walking might be quite hot and not so pleasant, as you go on the road.

We absolutely loved the view! There were monkeys and raccoons right by us and the hotels own hanging bridge was a great short cut into town (10min walk). Also the waterfall is so much closer and when you're staying at the accommodation, you don't have to pay for the waterfall.
