“Peaceful stay right by the beach with lots of wildlife”

Jim is a very friendly host and was helpful the whole way through the stay. His two dogs are lovely and really added to the experience. We got a free upgrade to a bigger cabina, plus some free beers, which was a very nice touch. The free bikes and snorkelling equipment were also a great bonus, and we even swapped one of our books for one of his. The place is right next to the beach and surrounded by trees, so it feels peaceful and nicely removed from everything. There is loads of wildlife around too — we saw iguanas, howler monkeys, giant squirrels, and hummingbirds, which really added to the whole stay. The pool is refreshing, the kitchen is good, and it was a very easy place to switch off and relax properly. Jim will also kindly give you a lift to local attractions, amenities, or Montezuma if needed, which makes things even easier. We’d definitely come back. Sláinte!

“Great location, super helpful host”

The owner Jim was very welcoming and went out of his way to help us out - letting us do some laundry, giving us recommendations for day-trips and nearby snorkelling spots. The cabins are quite rustic but charmingly so, and the setting is lovely. Cabuya has a very lived-in feel, not as tourist-oriented as nearby Montezuma or Santa Teresa, but with several excellent restaurants/sodas and 2 well-stocked mini-supermarkets, all within walking distance of the hotel. There is direct beach access, where you can walk out to the cemetary island/peninsula at low tide, and explore the shallow tidal pools. Monkeys and tropical birds visited the site every morning, which was really special.

“Amazing!”

I stayed alone at this beachfront bungalow, and it was exactly what I needed. A peaceful, cozy space surrounded by nature, perfect for disconnecting and reconnecting with myself. Waking up to the sound of the waves and having the ocean just steps away was truly magical. The bungalow was clean, well kept, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The host was kind and respectful, always available if I needed anything, yet gave me the privacy to enjoy my time alone. A perfect place for solo travelers looking for peace, inspiration, and a real break from the noise. I’d definitely come back!

“Relaxing and quiet paradise I.nat”

We really enjoyed our stay at Jim‘s paradise! It was simple and very calm, cozy and relaxing! There was a warm shower, comfy beds, tropical animals all around, a very clean pool and a kitchen to cook. Jim, the owner, was really friendly and helped us with everything we needed. He gave us a free upgrade so that we could stay in a big cabin, he let us use the washing machine (for free), he recommended us some nice place to buy fresh fish. His 3 dogs were also really adorable!! We recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quiet get-away close to nature!

“A Paradise for nature lovers”

I had a wonderful stay at Jim's place!! If you love nature, this place is a little paradise, a full immersion in Costa Rica's nature. Jim has a wonderful garden with a clean and refreshing swimmingpool, lots of trees that provide shadow and at the end of the garden a 180-Degree view over the sea. The perfect place to watch the sunrise and relax. Jim knows a lot about the local flora and fauna and he showed me so many birds, trees, etc. I saw a Coati, Scarlet Macaw, Monkeys and an Iguane among others right in his garden. Jim is a wonderful host, very helpful and a man of integrity and honesty. And Cabuya is very close to Montezuma (Jim lend me his bike) and is a very nice place, less touristic. You can visit the Cabo Blanco Réserve from there, which I really enjoyed. I would recommend you all to go to Jim' s place 😊

The place is great . Fantastic view of the ocean . The owner Jim is a very good person . He has a great sense of nature and know everything on his property. From the wildlife to the plants. He is a very intelligent man with a lot of knowledge and very good story to tell. He can show you the smallest bees in the world, Tiger heron, tell every name of the birds and much more. I recommand this place and i am returning every year , it is a must see!

Everything was Perfect

Best bang for your buck! Won't get any better for $30usd a night. Don't expect to be a 5 star resort for that price. You got your own cabin with small bathroom and kitchenette. (Very basic) You are by the beach and it's super affordable. Don't need nothing else. Pura vida!

“Excelente alojamiento frente al mar”

We stayed in a spacious cabin with stunning views of nature and the sea, for a great price. Very clean and large room with private bathroom and kitchen. The accommodation has a large and clean pool, it has a fantastic rest area on the beach with hammocks and chairs to relax. Jim and the staff who work there are really friendly and helped us with everything we needed. There are also 3 very cute and friendly dogs. I can't recommend this place more!!!!!
