Lilly and dayii were great and extremely accommodating and friendly, made us feel at home and very welcome. Organised anything via WhatsApp and in person. Would highly recommend for an affordable and cosy place to stay. Extremely homely.

Wonderful host, clean house, good kitchen. A bit off the center, but everything within a 15 minute walk's distance. Peaceful. The owners are really helpful and assist with anything you need or want. Tours, bus schedules, ... wonderful. Thanks for the great time!

Perfect location and great facilities

We loved our stay here, the bedroom was clean and comfortable, as was the shared bathroom and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking meals. However, the best thing about this guesthouse is the owners Erick and Dayi. They were so welcoming and helped us with booking all our excursions and transport. They also went above and beyond in helping us sort out other matters relating to our trip, which they didn't need to do. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Daja and her husband were such wonderful hosts. The house is so clean and the included breakfasts are really delicious and they make you really nice local coffee too. Our room was very comfortable. Daja organised shuttles and tours for us very easily even with a few hours notice. There home is really good value for money.

More than high level hospitality, you can feel as a homeplace. Not fare from exellent eating place with grate cooking. Breakfast is super tasty and not the same every day

The hosts were AMAZING, and were soo helpful with recommending and organising activities for us to do, as well as transportation to and from those activities!! The house was very homey and cosy, and perfect for resting after a long day of travelling/fun!

This guesthouse was amazing. Reminded me of what bed&breakfasts were in the “old days”. Leave yourself 10 mins when you arrive for the best check-in experience ever, when Dayi or Erick will go through everything in Monteverde, tailored to your interests! No matter where you book your tours in Monteverde, someone gets “commission” (like a loyalty program) but Dayi & Erick prioritise small local companies and ecotourism, and know everyone personally so can pull strings for you (like one shuttle dropping you at the next tour just in time!). Hakuna Matata was unbelievably clean, had excellent kitchen facilities (just ask for anything extra you need), delicious breakfast cooked for you by them, great wifi, comfy beds, everything you need. No dampness like other places reviews mentioned. Just a very very clean, very very friendly, very very helpful stay with lovely people.
