The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the area. They assisted us with obtaining a guide at the Monteverde Reserve, and were able to assist with additional information. The property was in a beautiful setting...a very positive experience!!

“Great stay close to the jungle”

Super nice location - away from the main roads, finally could really sleep great. We had a room on an upper floor and it was amazing sleeping with full jungle view and waking up with the morning sun. Also the balcony was cozy to sit on. The small jungle train was nice addition. Breakfast was great - offering 4 different options and as much juice and hot drinks as wished.

We had a lovely two bedroom villa which was very well equipped. It was nice after spending many nights in hotel room. Very helpful staff who organised transport to the park and gave us details of a local company delivering food . There is a lovely trail within the property and it is walking distance from a gorgeous reserve where you can walk and then enjoy a drink on their terrace. Very special place.

the staff were incredibly friendly and full of good suggestions for things to do in the vicinity; the breakfast was delicious and filling; the property had a lovely trail and delightful views.

The Villa we stayed in was amazing. Two large bedrooms two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Check in was very easy. The staff were super helpful when we wanted to go out and see the sights. Breakfast was beautiful out in the deck with nature all around us.

Great location and accomodation, I have stayed in different rooms. Some rooms were much-much better than others. This second room was far inferior to the previous one. Especially the lower level rooms can be very cramped and as I mention later lack proper ventilation. Breakfast was simple but I liked it, you definitely can't eat it more than a few times though. The public areas were very nicely set up, the trails well kept and plentiful birds, monkeys and alike. The place is not overly close to main town but it is walkable (lots of uphill back!), there is a small convenience store nearby and a few restauratns.

“Friendly staff and good location”

Friendly helpful staff. Our room in the main lodge was simple but clean. We were provided with umbrellas, and they let us use a portable heater in the room (lots of rain). The breakfast was pretty good. Good restaurant within walking distance.

The location is surrounded by nature, the staff goes out of their way to accommodate the guests. During breakfast, we saw a white-nosed coati on the porch. It‘s a really nice place.

Second stay in cala lodge and still excited about this hotel! Breakfast is amazing, staff is always there to support you with any kind of request, rooms are moderate to large in size and the surrounding is breathtaking. I love staying in cala lodge.

Great wildlife viewing areas. Delicious breakfast served to your table each morning. Coffee and bread pudding at 3pm! Comfortable bed. Luxury, organic shampoo, soap and lotion. Friendly, helpful staff. (Hi Eva and Emmanuel!) A peaceful, private setting but dining options within walking distance.

Beautiful accommodation including kitchenette/dining space/veranda. Communal dining area for breakfast/afternoon coffee, with an amazing view for nature watching. Lovely nature trail around property. Great breakfast. Staff very helpful, and able to advise on getting to both cloud forest reserves (we didn't have our own transport).

Great setting with easily seen widlife including the wonderful motmots. Delicious breakfasts which had the option of lovely vegetables. Organised our tour to the cloud forest.

Cute rooms, really comfortable beds, nice deck overlooking valley and hummingbirds, parking, medium walk into town, solid breakfast, on road to Monteverde. Definitely recommended. Best stay of our trip.

“A wholesome place”

Just a wonderful, wholesome little place. They put a lot of thought into everything they do: comfortable, well-appointed rooms, freshly made delicious breakfast, complimentary afternoon tea and cake, and even a nature trail right there on the property. The staff is very warm and friendly. The view from the room is stunning. Highly recommend.
