“Quiet and relaxing”

We had a nice stay. The room was large and close to the pool. There is lots to do in the surrounding area. We found it to be a nice alternative to a stay in Pisa.

The location, maintenance and general up keep was exceptional. The place was just as pictured and felt private and peaceful. The breakfast provided was amazing, only a short walk into the main town. We spent many days by the pool, which was lovely and ended most evenings with a espresso from the wonderful coffee amenities provided.

Amazing accommodation with authentic charm, a clean, spacious room, comfortable bed, and a modern bathroom. Plus points for the breakfast that takes place at a local bar where you get to sit with the locals. Helpful manager at last-minute check-in. Overall, amazing value for the price, highly recommend.

Beautiful place with astonishing views. The village is nice, cozy with a couple of good restaurants and a busy bar.

It's cheap

The location is great, the owner is friendly, parking is provided. The yard is large. Wineries, olive groves, the sea and beaches, as well as shops are located not far from the property and are easily accessible. Breakfast is offered just a few minutes' walk from the property.

The location is in a beautiful countryside setting, with lovely views and a peaceful atmosphere. It’s well positioned for visiting Volterra and within reach of Cecina and the coast. The person who welcomed us in person was also kind and helpful.

This was the best value for money stay! Nice high ceilings. Lovely breakfast.

The hotel was very close to the central part of the village with a short walking distance to restaurants. The room was clean. The man who gave us the key was friendly although he spoke little English.

The hotel offered great value for the price. The room was big enough, and the garden was very nice. Breakfast was okay, a typical Italian style with a sandwich, a croissant, and coffee.

Our first stop in our road trip and couldn’t have had a better start to our vacation. Marco was very pleasant. The room, or better yet apartment, was way better than the pictures, extremely clean and very well organised. The location was also great, in the heart of the lovely village of Montescudaio! We certainly recommend it and hopefully be back soon!

Le Fontanelle is a truly hidden gem. Nestled amongst beautiful greenery, a few steps away from the village of Montescudaio. It was as though time stood still and it is the perfect place to relax!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The pool was fantastic — clean, relaxing, and perfect for both kids and adults. The apartment itself was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is also great, close to everything but still peaceful. The staff were very responsive and helpful whenever we needed anything. Highly recommended! Will definitely return!

A Gothic Nightmare – Without the Charm! If you’re into haunted mansion vibes, ghostly check-ins, and decor straight out of a bad history book, this hotel is your dream. Otherwise… run. Run fast. I actually tried to be considerate: I called ahead to let them know I’d be arriving late. The person on the phone had all the warmth of a wet cinder block and practically hung up on me. When I arrived? No one. Not even a ghost to hand me a key. The room was spacious, sure — like an abandoned warehouse. The decor? Imagine Napoleon returning from exile and opening a hotel with zero budget. Even an Ibis would be embarrassed. Cleanliness? Let’s just say housekeeping probably happened sometime last century. The pool? I’m not Indiana Jones. I don’t venture into murky waters without a rescue team. It looked at me, and I looked away. Staff? Picture Cast Away with Tom Hanks. Same energy, but no Wilson. Honestly, most of the Airbnbs I’ve stayed in — even the ones with Hello Kitty curtains — had more class than this place. Here, I felt like I’d traveled back in time… without a machine, without a guide, and definitely without a refund. In short: a traumatic experience that taught me one thing — comfort is a right. And this place doesn’t believe in rights.
