“An excellent place to stay, 10 stars at least.”

A truly superb place to stay. It stands out in our memory of the 5 weeks we spent around France. We plan to return to the Montbrison area just to stay again (and longer) at Une Odeur de Tilleul😀The property is designed and furnished very stylishly, the spacious rooms are provided with every comfort. The garden is calm and relaxing. We appreciated the warm welcome from Elisabeth and Patrick plus the refreshment tray as we relaxed by the pool! Last but not least what a fabulous breakfast on the patio with Elisabeth’s home cooked treats! Thank you for your kind attention and conversations with us.

This is probably the best overnight stay in France we’ve ever had - and we’ve been many times. Beautiful accommodation, wonderful hosts Elisabeth and Patrique. Magnificent breakfast. 5 minutes walk into the centre of Montbrison - good selection of bars and restaurants. Elisabeth happy to recommend bars, restaurants and places of interest.

Lovely house, very well located. Great room, super relaxing ambient and lovely guests with a big care for details. I can't thing of a better location in Montbrison. We stayed for two nights and would certainly repeat.

“A friendly and comfortable relaxing experience of a home away from home”

Friendly and charming hosts who make you feel very welcome and at home. Both my wife and I loved staying in the beautiful and very comfortable suite. A luxurious breakfast with every morning new surprises of local cheeses, meats and other products. We loved "Fourme de Montbrison" a local cheese that tasts a bit like Roquefort but much milder. Both owners Elizabeth and Patric are very communicative and helpful

“Simply outstanding!!!”

In summary - wow! This place was a real gem of a find, from walking up the steps into the garden, I knew we'd chosen a special place. We were greeted by Elizabeth, the host, and shown to our room which was simply outstanding. It was so thoughtfully decorated and well equipped with literally everything you could want and more. The bathroom was lovely and has inspired me for our upcoming house move. There were so many beautiful touches, chocolates, a selection of different teas and a coffee machine, excellent quality bedding and towels ... Breakfast was a real treat too, with bread and pastries, local cheeses, meat, yoghurts, home-made jams, juices and freshly brewed coffee and tea. We really enjoyed sitting at the large table and chatting with Elizabeth and her husband, great practice for our limited French language skills. The location is excellent too, just a short walk from the centre of Montbrison. Sadly we visited in January so couldn't enjoy the beautiful pool area but that's our excuse to ensure we return one day. Thank you to the hosts for an outstanding stay.

Very welcoming hosts. You can feel that they do this with pleasure and like to talk and exchange with their guests. Swimmingpool was very welcome under the sun. Montbrison is a lovely little village evrything at walking distance from the place.

One of the best B&B’s we have ever stayed in. Beautiful property in excellent condition, very spacious room, wonderful hosts in Elizabeth & Patrick who welcomed us with a local drink poolside, local information about Montbrison and restaurants, great conversation and a wonderful breakfast. Highly recommended

“Luxurious, relaxing and friendly”

This property is full of delightful surprises- the owners have gone out their way to ensure that the experience for guests is luxurious, relaxing and memorable. The entrance reveals a secret garden with a pool and peaceful surroundings. Inside, the facilities are exceptional. The furnishings are of a high standard. Our hosts amazed us with their hospitality- there was a generous breakfast with a range of carefully selected and delicious treats. Elisabeth and Patrick assisted with our restaurant booking and reserved a local place at very short notice. This was excellent. We cannot fault this accommodation. All 8 of us (two families) enjoyed the stay from start to finish. Saturday was market day in Montbrison- this was a perfect way to explore the town. Thank you to our hosts for a wonderful stay and fur making us feel very welcome.
