We couldn’t have had a more magical experience! The entire team is amazing for the warm welcome, attention to detail and managing to take such good care of us while giving us space! Location is incredible, the semi dessert area looks like another planet, food was absolutely delicious and watching the sunset in the hot tub was an absolute highlight. Incredible idea. I hope we will find you here when we’re back in a few years.

THE most beautiful location, deep in the mountains. The property overlooked a most stunning valley. The attention to detail in our chalet was sublime - welcome drinks, hot chocolate, marshmallows, popcorn, honesty bar, every cooking utensil and a wonderful fireplace. The herb garden outside for our own use was such a bonus. The hiking trails were really well marked and let me not forget the Kol, kol overlooking the valley....

The location was just.. wow! The property is so spacious and lush. You’ll have a lot of privacy. The dome itself has everything you need. Mainly a very comfortable bed. Everything you will need during your stay, is available in the cottage. Interior very nice, with a nice eye for detail. Staff and service is invisible, but present. All questions were answered in no time.

The beautiful dome room! All the little “Easter eggs” around the house, the sweet little notes and tips around the home. And the boma and hot tub was incredible!

“This place is a gem!”

We booked Gaia, a spacious apartment with a bedroom in a dome. What a great experience to watch the stars in the evening and waking up with amazing views on the mountains from your bed. The attention to detail is impeccable. Everything you need can be found in the apartment, or the herb garden if you decide to cook meals yourself. We enjoyed the silence, the hiking paths and the kolkol. Before and after our stay we explored the region … and fell in love with Barrydale Montagu and their surroundings.

Did not have breakfast there. Nice and quiet. Indoor fireplace nice and want during the cold nights. A big bonus.

Absolutely amazing place. We stated in the Gaia dome which was beautifully appointed. Best place we’ve ever stayed in South Africa. The marked trails are easy to follow to the pools and waterfall. The team are very friendly and helpful.

The setting of the Nova cottage is secluded and quiet, highly recommended to book the boma and hottub with a snack platter. Walking trails.

I have never felt more welcomed or spoilt when staying over at Starry Starry Night. So many little touches to make you feel comfortable and to ensure that you have everything that you need. Beautiful nights skies, stunning views, a fynbos garden of your own and such a comfortable, cozy cottage, not to mention the sweet water. I cannot recommend staying here more.

“Perfect winter weekend in the middle of nowhere!”

What an amazing find! We spent a cozy winter weekend here and had a delightful time. The highlight was watching the stars from bed! The bed really is amazing - great-quality sheets and good bedding, and giant bath in the dome is super special! As someone who loves to cook, I appreciate all the thought that went into stocking the kitchen. I generally travel with a couple of kitchen items (like a proper knife and coffee maker), and I didn’t need to use any of my things! The place is beautiful and there is so much to do, we didn’t even get to half of it! We did take the short hike to the waterfall, which was lovely - the views here are really something else. But we’ll need to come back for more: we will return in a heartbeat!
