“One night was much too short a stay at this exceptional property”

The property is delightful, set in large thoughtfully laid out gardens with wonderful plants and trees and a very large swimming pool. Patrick, the host, came out to lead us to the property when we got lost and on arrival proved to be the most genial and generous host. The room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and provided with kettle, coffee and tea. The adjoining bathroom was well equipped with a clean shower and hot water. The breakfast was exceptional by any standards, with a huge variety of locally sourced foods and homemade preserves, a selection of bread, toast, croissants, cheeses, charcuterie, home made yogurt and even a bowl of freshly picked wild strawberries. Patrick sent us away with a homemade cheesecake we'd been unable to sample at breakfast, and which proved to be delicious. We were sorry to leave what was the best chambre d'hote we have ever stayed in and even many expensive hotels around the world. We couldn't fault it and would like to find an excuse to return.

A fabulous, dreamy place full of warmth and coziness in the beautiful countryside—loved everything from the comfortable bed to the fresh pastries every morning at the fireplace.

Situated in a calm countryside location but within easy distance to villages and activities. Really nice welcome from owners, very friendly and informative. Lovely rooms, well furnished with comfortable bed. Amazing breakfast! Will definitely stay again when next in the area.

Patrick was the perfect host. He couldn’t have been more welcoming or obliging. We had an issue with the booking, my fault entirely, but Patrick went out of his way to resolve it straight away. He and Jean-Paul have created a beautiful home-from-home with exquisite taste. If you want complete rest and relaxation Les 2 Brigards is ideal.

Located in tranquil, extensive grounds with a lovely pool, and other amenities such as table tennis, badminton, outside kitchen with bbq and various nooks for sitting around the garden. Although in a rural setting, it was well situated with a couple of good restaurants within 5 mins. Breakfast was exceptional, served by Patrick, our genial and very helpful host. Breakfast included pastries, cold meats and cheese, fresh fruit, homemade yoghurt and jams - and eggs cooked to your choice. The property has been beautifully restored with lots of lovely touches. Would definitely go back

Beautiful peaceful setting with large pool. Patrick was super friendly and a nice touch to find an umbrella left outside our room one morning when it was raining. Bed and linen were some of the best we have experienced. Breakfast was superb and we ordered a charcuterie board and fromagerie board for dinner last night and was presented so beautifully and lots of variety with nuts/dried fruits/figs/grapes etc. Overall an exceptional experience and super relaxed.

What a fabulous place to stay! Patrick, our host, was extremely friendly and helpful and could not have been more welcoming. The accommodation was superb, full of charm and beautifully clean and traditionally French..just our cup of tea! The bed was so comfortable, bathroom perfect and the room was cool in the heat. Breakfasts were fantastic. The property stands in wonderfully kept parkland, with an excellent pool and games areas dotted around. By far and away, the most idyllic hotel/chambre d'hote we have ever stayed at in the heart of stunning Bergerac vineyards. In a word..'exceptional'. Thank you Patrick for a fabulous 2 nights and lazy days around the pool. We'll definitely be back!

Patrick was a fabulous host & even though we don't speak much French he helped us by speaking English if we didn't understand. The breakfast was great and the evening meal we had was delicious 😋 The room was lovely and we had use of a sitting room with TV which was great to watch the Olympics!

This is perhaps one of the most beautiful & loved facilities we have ever stayed at. Patrice exudes pride of ownership is every detail he has created both inside & out. The grounds are stunning & boast a wonderful swimming pool, flowers & garden galore & numerous quiet spots where one could curl up with a book in a cozy chair. Breakfast is a tasty & hearty venture. Coffee is amazing!

“Great host and very comfortable accommodation”

We arrived at this wonderful old renovated French villa after a long day of very warm cycling (yet another one 🥵) and found a welcoming host and, very importantly, a refreshing pool that was utilised within a few minutes. Rooms are beautifully restored and very comfortable. The morning breakfast was a meal fit for the king or queen of the manor, a great way to start the day! Our host also helped as much as he could with tools and a compressor when a tyre on one of our bikes decided to have a blowout. If you’re in the area, highly recommend.
