“One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at”

I had a great time there and highly recommend staying there. Great owners, wonderful staff, fantastic bar (with an amazing bartender!), and a quiet location. This hostel has everything you need for a peaceful, restful, and relaxing stay.

“Home from home”

We loved spending time at the Mudhouse with Nout, Jolanda and their two boys. They made my daughter and I feel at home and it was more like staying with family than at booked accommodation. We spent evenings sitting at their bar and my daughter was included in all the board games that were being played.

“Amazing little slice of heaven in Ecuador”

Nowt & Yolanda were amazing hosts as well as their two little boys. We felt right at home here! Rooms are spacious and beds comfy. The town is small and only a short walk to the beach and restaurants. There is a mini mart, ATM and farmacia- everything you need.

Mudhouse Hostal was exactly what I was looking for—super laid-back, close to the beach, and full of good vibes. The natural style of the place fits perfectly with Mompiche’s easygoing atmosphere. I spent a lot of time just relaxing in the hammocks, chilling after surfing and reading books. The staff were awesome—really friendly and always happy to help with local tips. My room was simple, clean, and had everything I needed. Not fancy, but super comfortable and totally fits the surf-town vibe. If you're into surfing, relaxing, and meeting cool people, this place is a winner. Would definitely stay again.

The owners are super lovely. The kitchen is the cleanest I've ever seen in a hostel. The bar has a good happy hour. The yoga and hammock space and sunken lounge - lots of cool areas to hang out.

Nice area’s to chill!

Very friendly and welcoming owners. The property it is very nice, clean and well equipped. The new bar area is a great place to spend the evenings, enjoying VERY good value drinks during happy hour - great place for meeting people both locals and other travellers. Would very highly recommend to anyone visiting Mompiche (even if you don’t stay there you should visit the bar for happy hour!)

The place is beautiful, made with much love and feeling for details and atmosphere. It is taken care of in every aspect. One can easily felt as a part of a family - having his peace when needed but always people to do something with as well. The owners are care taking, easy and do everything they can for the guests to meet their needs. Thank you!

“It felt like home”

A very beautifull place with clean and large dorms, a nice garden, cosey kitchen and many hangout spots. Very warm welcome and easy to meet other people. It felt like home.

“Surfing paradise”

We loved the common areas and yoga deck. Nout sorted out us being able to watch the Six Nations rugby (he has every sports channel under the sun). The kitchen is lovely and semi-outside. We really liked how friendly and social it was during breakfast and dinner. Yolanda, Nout and the boys were such great company!

“A fab hostel in cute Mompiche”

The yoga/chill out area was fabulous and the people, both owners and volunteers as well as other guests were friendly. The bar is also cute and brings people from across town for happy hour, nice drinks and music too.

“Mudhouse: Best hostel in Mompiche”

Mudhouse is absolutely the best hostel in Mompiche. The owners are so friendly and the hostel has everything you need. A lovely kitchen, great showers and the best WiFi in town. I had a wonderful time here!

Very good hostel! Perfect hostel to chill out and find surfing buddies. I was happy with the mosquito nets on the beds and the kitchen was well equipped.

Mindy is a great host. There is a cosy atmosphere in the hostel and everything is there what you need. There is a lot of space to chill out, well equipped kitchen to cook, and there is also a restaurant at the hostel with delicious food. The beach is a short walk. I would highly recommend this hostel!

The hostal was super beautiful with huts that look very natural. The location was very central and close to the beach but not right next to a bar etc. There is a tapas bar right in the hostel complex with very tasty food and a nice atmosphere. I would recommend the hostel and think it's the best I've seen in Mompiche
