The location was very good, a short walkable distance to the beach and to a mall and some shops and restaurants, but still quiet and not too busy. The beds were okay as well as the washrooms (the shower might need a new controller, it always fell off) but from the pictures we were expecting to get twin beds or a double bed but it were bunk beds.

“Rustic charm, nice outdoors area and nice staff, but in need of renovation”

I was at Tulia seven years ago, back in 2018, and the place had not change much to my eyes. It still had a bar/restaurant area, a swimming pool and a big garden. The garden area had changed a bit, and now it was less of grassy patches and instead a volleyball plan. It still has a rustic charm, and it's still a good place to meet people I guess, even though it was few people around on my only night here. The staff was so friendly and helped me a lot about finding info about safaris and getting in touch with people. They also arranged a matatu pickup to the train station. Very close located to restaurants, supermarkets, beach etc.

Top Hostel close to Mombasa. The Hosts and employees are super nice. Location is very good; I got even help to get rental car to top price. Nice bar in a green garden; Pool gets cleaned every morning.

I really liked the room, it was spacious and comfortable. Also the common area was great and suitable for meeting other backpackers. I liked the breakfast also, you could choose from three options and pancakes were enormous. We’ve extended the stay two times and they let us stay in the same room although it wasn’t available on Booking anymore. The stuff was always kind and helpful.

The staff was nice, the location is good (close to the beach and food/shopping). My room (female dorm) had a nice and big balcony with a table.

A green and clean hostel with great design, located near the beach, and with very kind and helpful staff.

Hariette was amazing. She went above and beyond to make sure my needs was filled. Thank you, if I come back to Mombasa, I know where to sleep next time

“Some challenges here and there, but ok for a couple of nights”

The best things were the breakfasts, location and welcoming and helpful personnel at the reception. However, there are quite a few things to improve. We had different issues during our stay, and the ladies from the reception always did their best to help.

We thought we were booking the one in Mombasa old town as we wanted one day there to visit. This one is far away, however. Be careful not to make the same mistake as we did if you want to go to Old Town.
