The property is out of the way and easily missed. Lesotho has poor internet reception and I definitely recommend getting a SIM card. Due to an unfavourable experience at the highest pub in Africa, I didn’t end up staying. The staff however, were very helpful and understanding.

“An authentic Lesotho mountain experience - well worth a visit - but don't go expecting 5 star stuff.”
The location - off the beaten track and with beautiful views of the mountain. The room was comfortable and warm and the staff were friendly, genuine and helpful. Definitely worth a visit and we'd happily return.

The accommodation is exactly as pictured. We got to know some very friendly people from Lesotho. They did their absolute best to make our stay memorable! They organised horse riding and transportation to the border for us.

“Wonderful remote getaway”
This was such a beautiful place in the remote locations of Sani pass. The staff in duty were wonderful and helpful beyond mention. The local made dinners were tasty and filling.

The beautiful scenery and the shepherds, dogs, ponies and their sheep/goats, was a real Lesotho experience (our first time in Lesotho). Comparing the cost of Sani Stone Lodge to other accommodation prices in Lesotho, I was not expecting 4 star accommodation and did not mind staying there for one night. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff (gentleman) on the premises was extremely helpful and friendly.

“Basic and authentic”
This is a very basic property, as expected, but the staff are lovely and go to great lengths to look after you. If you want to experience staying in a Basotho rondavel in a wild and remote location- this is for you. If you need showers and WiFi stay away.

Poor signage to find. No key for door. Communal kitchen not cleaned from previous day. Leaking pipes in toilet & plumbing pulling out of walls. Maintenance poor
