“A lovely house in a beautiful garden with a great hostess”

Our stay at El Horno was awesome. Sandra met us to give us the key and explain everything about the house. The lovely house is well equipped and has a beautiful garden, with growing vegetables and a great warm pool, which we used and played waterball in. The beds were comfortable, and we even had a choice of pillows for every taste. The house has two bathrooms, which is very convenient, and the windows have screens to keep out the insects. The kitchen had everything we needed. Sandra did everything she could to make sure that we felt very welcome during our whole stay, I would definitely recommend the house to other guests and we will choose it again if we return to Gran Canaria.

La Casita del Horno exceeded our expectations in every way possible. Nestled in the tranquil village of El Horno, in the scenic Mogan region of southern Gran Canaria, this charming retreat offers an unforgettable escape. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning mountain views that greeted us and our kind and generous hosts. The property boasts a delightful pool area with plenty of pool toys - perfect for lounging and soaking up the sun while enjoying the serene surroundings. The Casita is tastefully decorated with quality furnishings and many little extras to make your stay easy and stress free. Sandra and Tony even did some shopping for us so we didn’t have to rush out straight away. This was a welcome gift which we didn’t expect! The well-equipped kitchen was a joy to cook in, featuring modern appliances and everything we needed to prepare delicious meals. We especially appreciated the opportunity to dine al fresco. Plenty of places to sit and no mosquitoes to bother you - my idea of heaven! The windows have fly screens on to keep out any unwanted visitors as well. We wanted to do some cycling and the Casita is ideally placed on a climb to Soria. Our hired bikes were secure in an area with a locked gate. Parking is dead easy in marked spaces outside the gate and plenty to choose from! There’s a small shop for essentials five minutes walk away and the nearest town is Arguineguin about 12kms away. We didn’t bother going out to eat much as it was so lovely to cook at home with a glass of wine and enjoy the views. Thanks for everything, Sandra and Tony ❤️

“Exceptional house and host.”

We absolutely loved our stay at La Casita del Horno, it was a real home from home for us and had everything we needed, a well stocked kitchen, great WIFI, inflatables for the pool, BBQ equipment, lots of towels, chairs for the beach and toys for the kids, everything had been carefully thought about and supplied to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We were greeted on our arrival by Sandra and Tony who showed us were everything was and how everything worked, they had even bought us some shopping so we could have supper and breakfast as we arrived late in the evening. They were always quick to respond if we had any questions and were very helpful with recommendations of places to visit. The house is very clean inside and out and feels very safe and secure. The heated pool round the back is perfect, we were in it everyday and there is a lovely terrace and garden at the front where we sat and had breakfast while watching the sun come over the mountains. The village is very peaceful and well away from the tourist hotspots but you can be there in 20 minutes by car, its a great base for visiting the south coast or heading into the mountains. After a long overdue holiday the house and the hosts surpassed our expectations and we would not hesitate to return, thank you Sandra and Tony.
