“One should try Eco Lodge! It's a crèam de la crèam!”

The owners were on top of things from the comfort of your stay, to your excursion with your local tour guide that they recommended. There was a Music Madness event and they hung a set of earphones in our door because they didn't want us to be sleep deprived. 😀 We love to walk everywhere. Angie showed us a short cut trail and we felt safe walking late at night with our cellphone torches. The locals were very helpful if you miscalculated your steps. They are also looking out for you. I can't say enough how genuine Simon and Angie are, their daily presence speaks of how caring they are. They made sure that you had the best time in Moalboal. We love them! ♥️I am also proud to see that these ecologically friendly lodges and practices exist in the Philippines. I feel blessed that I share the same climate action and social responsibility with these people.

Owners were so welcoming and friendly. It was so lovely to meet you both and the dogs to ☺️ the lodge was beautiful such a peaceful place to call home. They had games to play over in the hut which was fun to do of a night. I would 100% recommend you book with the eco lodge, we where sad we had to cut our stay short due to family but I would not hesitate to re book again 🙂

“Loved it, quiet and beautiful place. Mr. gecko has a character”

I liked that it is not inside the main area where all the party goes are, it was quite and very natural. Had a place to get my peace of mind. We rented a motorcycle from the company that works with the hotel and the service was fast and efficient, they brought the bike to us and took it back at the time we asked them too. Very lovely hosts, won’t bother you and let you have your holiday pleasant and nice. Just what we wanted. Thank you for making such a beautiful place, worth the visit if you like it quiet and not too far away from the main town.

The lodge is very cute, clean and in a great location. Staff are super friendly and helpful - we booked tours and bikes through the stay. Nice to be out of the main town but close enough - easy to get around either by walking or bike. Only a few lodges but a big shared space.

Beautiful bamboo bungalow in a tropical garden close to everything, still a retreat outside everything. Very good service, and you can get solutions quickly. Perfect for me

“A perfect combination of nature and comfort”

I was looking for a nice place to chill and just relax after being in the middle of Panagsama road for a few days. I found exactly what I needed there. It had such a calm atmosphere - I enjoyed that there was a kitchen space and fridge to keep some snacks and fruits. The hammoks and especially the bed (!!!) is great. Also the outside bathroom was really refreshing. Showering under the stars :) The hosts were really lovely and accomodating, without losing a sense for privacy for their guests. They have such a great eye for detail, they do really great work in the community and for the street dogs. A nice to know (because it is not visable on google maps): The main road, Panagsama Rd. (Restaurants, bars and a few beaches are here) is only a 10-minute walk away through the little local village.

What a beautiful place to start our trip around the Philippines. Angie and Simon are absolutely fantastic and so friendly. They answered any questions we had and even organised taxis and trips for us which was incredibly helpful. The lodge we stayed in was amazing, we were concerned before arriving that there is no air conditioning however this was no issue because of the way the cabins are designed and my girlfriend even woke up cold one morning! (Not too cold, don’t worry). We loved the eco lodges, the way they are designed and the open air bathrooms, showering under the sky was great. It really felt like you are staying in nature with no compromise of comfort. The town is an about a 10 minute walk away and the short cut takes you through a small local village where the residents are extremely friendly. Overall a fabulous experience, thank you so much I cannot recommend here enough!

Everything was just perfect! The location, the coziness of the huts, the surrounding nature, the small path to town which goes through local villagers and last but not least Angie and Simon were absolutely lovely, helpful and really make you feel at home. Stayed one week but could have stayed so much more. You get all the information you need to explore the island by yourself and really great reccomendations for both more touristy and more isolated place. Stay here if you are going to Moalboal and like a more quiet place and you won't regret it.

Angie and Simon make your time in Moalboal effortless! Their warm welcome, incredible recommendations and tasty breakfasts made my friend and I feel right at home in Moalboal. Our stay was comfortable, we loved being so close to the beach and with the tricycle numbers they gave us we could get all around the island. Plus, it was great to know we were choosing an eco-friendly option. Would definitely recommend!

“Far away from noise but near enough to where the fun is, 10 mins by foot to the main busy street”

First of all, I Simon and Angie are the friendliest hosts and they definitely know Moalboal a lot. I am from the Philippines but they are more local than I ever will be. On Google Maps, you see that it's so far to walk to the mail street but there is a path that cuts into a field and you get to the center through a small village with friendly people. It's about 10 minutes walk so if you're drinking then it's easy to walk back to the stay. The place is called eco lodge for a reason and people should really think about this when booking the place. It's small and is very instagrammable but it is not just aesthetics. The place really embodies being ecological. They collect their rainwater, they recycle, they do everything that everyone should follow. Just to add, the common area is really convenient. We bought food and drinks and stored it in the fridge and cooked at the kitchen.

“Amazing place, great hosts!”

Amazing place, would highly recommend staying here for multiple days and visit all of South Cebu! Angie & Simon are the greatest hosts and make you feel very welcome. Everything is possible and all information & tips you’d need are always at your disposal. The bungalows are great and the sustainability focus makes it even better. Getting a scooter to move around is great for moving around more freely and giving you the opportunity to visit all activities at your own pace. They’ve incorporated great nudges to make you think in a more sustainable way like having reusable canvas bags in your room, refillable water bottles and free drinking water available at all times, great way to make you more conscious! The beer fridge & hammock deck adds that extra service touch and makes your stay very comfortable :) Walking to the ‘restaurant’ street is adventurous but quick but also tips for tricycle pick-ups are available. Tours & activities can be booked through the host and added to your bill, makes it very easy. Would highly recommend making this your home base to travel all over Cebu!

Such an amazing tranquil place to stay in Moalboal. We stayed for four nights and could have stayed much longer. Simon and Angie are super friendly and helpful, they helped us with everything we needed. From the best tips to renting a scooter and going on a canyoneering tour. The breakfast was also delicious! It’s a little green paradise not far from the restaurants, bars, and beaches.

“Lovely stay in sustainable bamboo lodge”

We loved our stay at the Eco lodge in Moalboal! We particularly appreciated the true "Eco" approach and real sustainable mindset of the owner and the place itself. The lodge itself is really cute and well-built. It's small but there is everything you need. There's a mosquito net for the bed and a fan to keep you cool. The bathroom is really beautiful, giving an indoor/ outdoor experience. The surroundings are quiet and make you appreciate the nature around. Besides that, the owners were really kind and helpful, giving us many tips and advice to enjoy our stay! (Plus they have cute dogs on the property)

The lodge is in great location away from the busy centre of Moalboal but also easy walk to the main area. The layout and gardens have been designed extremely well. The facilities have everything you need for a short stay in Moalboal with excellent communal areas to chill relax etc The owners Simon and Angie are extremely helpful and kind. They give great tips on everything about the island and area, also helping us to plan our time in Moalboal with company recommendations etc

“Fabulous”

This place is absolutely amazing! The cabins are comfortable, clean and quiet in a beautiful garden, we slept so well and the outdoor shower is fantastic The city is easy to reach but here you can find tranquility and serenity. Angie and Simon are perfect hosts: very passionate about their job, they can help you with everything (renting a scooter, calling a driver, suggestions…), they really care about the environment, the nature and the community around them There is a common area with hammocks and chairs to relax and admire the sunset, they offer you a kitchen with free tea, coffee and fresh water It was the best stay we had during our journey in the Philippines and we loved their dogs and Mr. Babe 💚 Thanks Angie and Simon, we will miss you all 🌴 🐶 🐱 🌺 🦋

“Amazing stay at a beautiful and comfortable ecolodge with the most amazing hosts”

I loved everything about Moalboal Eco Lodge - from the moment I booked, Simon and Angie reached out to help me plan my journey to them from Cebu, and it made me feel welcome before I even got there. And when I arrived, everything surpassed my expectations - the accommodation is beautiful. I stayed in both styles of cottages during my time there because of a last minute extension and they’re both to the highest standard and super comfortable. I will always be blown away by outdoor showers too - so special. The deck with the hammocks is a peaceful spot looking out over the countryside, where you can watch the birds dart around the sky. You can also do your own yoga practice up there! Simon and Angie were so helpful throughout my stay - I ordered breakfast most mornings and it was a chance to plan my day with Angie’s help. With Simon and Angie’s input, I was able to make the most of time in Moalboal - had an amazing snorkelling tour, went canyoneering, a day out viewing the sights of the local area, and a trip to the local dog rescue. I’d recommend all of the activities that Angie and Simon suggest - they really know the local area and are part of the community which means the trips are super special. I am already hoping for a return trip soon!

Simon is a super friendly host. He helped us with organizing transfer, activities etc. Always answered fast and friendly. Room was clean with a nice outdoor shower. There is also a Community kitchen with a fridge and free drinking water.

“Lovely place”

The owners are so incredible friendly and helpfull. They decorated the bed for my birthday! The room was specious, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious. We also liked that they are helping the community (dog rescue center, teaching eco-friendly alternatives).
