“Enjoy staying in authentic local environment!”

Mind that it's not a hotel, but a traditional Japanese house, with sliding doors, etc. The host, Izumi-san, is an extremely nice and helpful person. Breakfast and dinner could be arranged at your desired time. You'll get a copious Japanese food for both!

“Nice and cozy stay”

This is our continuous stay in this guesthouse, but shifted to a larger room on the ground floor as the twin-room we stayed earlier wasn't available during reservation. Obviously floor space is much bigger in this Japanese style room, we could spread our stuff across the floor. There's even a fridge so that we need not use the common fridge at its kitchen. The common dining area and kitchen is just next to our room.

“Nice and cozy stay”

An old traditional guesthouse in a quiet residential area, very convenient to visit the south-eastern part of Miyako. Logically it's best to have your own transport to stay at such a location. Nearest supermarket is some 8 mins' drive, and convenience store is double the time. There's small grocery stores nearby but they close early. Twin-room on the second floor is very basic, not that spacious, but the essentials are there, like aircon, fan, Wi-Fi, and just enough electric sockets. Toilet with bathroom is just next door. And easy access to the big balcony, which I enjoyed a lot during the night, with lots of stars visible thanks to the good weather. Host is a nice person, very kind and friendly, and could speak some English. She recommended to us where are the better beaches to go, which restaurants, the facilities in the guesthouse, and helped to buy some cakes for us as it's my birthday on one of the days. Breakfast rate is very reasonable, just simple Japanese meals. Also tried its dinner in a bento box plus soba noodles, very filling, though its price tag is a little steep.

“I will stay again”

The Host is very kind nice person and best guide for local area where is not on guidebook. Better to ask local activity, secret beach, best place for coffee and so on. And you can enjoy homemade dinner box if you request in advance as same as a simple breakfast. I enjoyed host's breakfast together with my additional local foods. Btw 2 small local stores in 5 mins walk but close early. At morning, you can wake up with birds singing and having a coffee at large terrace at second floor. At evening, you can enjoy beer with sunset at terrace. At night, further beer with clear starview. Even some weakpoints on thin wall and noise from walkway at second floor, worth staying and enjoying countryside silence with hospitality.

“Best home ever!!!”

The host is a piece of heart! She is such a nice, friendly person. We really appreciate her a lot. She has been very helpful with booking the trips. When we just arrived, she showed us all the places of interest on a map and answered any question we had. The daily Japanese breakfast was excellent and tasty. We would come back again in the future. It's a wonderful place where to stay and it has a terrace where you can see the sunset. The place is also very close to the wonderful beach Boraga, which is really worth visiting. “It felt like home, I'll stay there next time.”

Izumi was a great host and the breakfast she made was delicious! It was close to Bora beach, which was great. And with the bike I could rent for free (electric, at some point, even!) it was wonderful to visit the amazingly beautiful green areas around, all the way to Cape Higashi-Hennazaki, as well the other beaches, like Yoshino Kaigan Beach. I was traveling around the island with the local bus (no 1), which runs like 5-6 times a day, so, not very often, which is why it was nice I could use the room, shower, snorkeling kit and bike after the time of check out, for an extra fee, until later in the afternoon, when the bus was scheduled.

A neat, clean and enthusiastic host. You can ride a bike to the lighthouse and the coast. It's also friendly for people who don't have a car. Japanese houses are not soundproof, so it may not be suitable for you to live here if you are sensitive to sound. It makes me feel at home. I will come back next time.❤️

The host was very friendly and really made me feel at home. She always had a simple, yet delicious breakfast prepared each morning. It was a very warm and welcoming stay, and I would definitely stay here again if I came back to Miyakojima.
