“Lovely hotel on Miyajima with excellent Japanese dinner”

Really lovely hotel in great peaceful location on Miyajima. We were picked up by the hotel from the ferry terminal which worked well. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. We had the hotel dinner and breakfast which were great experiences. Lots of fresh fish and seafood! We didn’t use the onsen but there was one in the hotel and we had access to this. Good value for money.

“Huge room overlooking trees and the bay”

We had a very spacious room. Best part was being able to keep the window wide open for fresh air. Very happy that we were picked up and dropped off at ferry terminal. Otherwise easy walking to all the main attractions. Very Japanese fare for set dinner - mostly pretty tasty but a few things just not for me. There was certainly plenty of food. Similarly for breakfast.

The location is simply incredible, and the (slightly longer) walk from the ferry to the hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff were extremely friendly, the onsen was very pleasant, and the breakfast was sensational. The room was also a dream, and you can make your futon as firm or as soft as you like. One of the most wonderful hotel experiences I had during my four weeks in Japan.

The room was really spacious and the location, far from the most touristy areas, was lovely. The shuttle service was great!

Traditional dinner & breakfast created conversation at table, 22year old expanded his culinary palette. Did we enjoy the experience very much so. Did we enjoy the food not always. Staff very polite & helpful as you would expect. Easy walk to see shrine.

Everything was beautiful

It was old and did not match photos. Food tasted ok but the dining room did not have a good ambience.

Very welcoming and the free transport from the ferry terminal was an added bonus. The Japanese style rooms were wonderful to experience.

Price, position, food and comfort all lacking

We liked the traditional room. We had to make our own beds but this was not an issue. We were provided yukatas and that was nice. The traditional dinner was rich, with a lot of small dishes. We enjoyed the western breakfast with a Japanese twist.

Stunning location, top quality food, Japanese room was such an experience - stylish, matcha green tea in room, comfy pillows and duvets . Lots of stunning Mountain walks.

A great place to stay away from the crowds and to explore the island.
