The home was beautiful and was such a relaxing environment for a very hot day! We really enjoyed the onsen experience in the bathroom and the courtyard brought us a lot of peace. Great location too! The home also was much bigger than we expected! The host was really friendly and also found some earrings that we left.

Every room is incredibly comfortable and made our stay feel truly unique, as if we had been transported to a different era in Japan. The decoration is even more beautiful in person, with an exceptional attention to detail that makes the whole experience unforgettable. The host is extremely kind, gentle, and helpful, and supported us with everything we needed throughout our stay. We had an incredible experience and our only regret is that we could not stay longer. We will definitely recommend it to all of our friends. Without a doubt, this is one of the best Ryokan experiences you can have absolutely AMAZING. We will truly miss it.

charming and comfortable, kindest hosts

Beautiful old townhouse on a quiet street but close to the ferry terminal as well as all the shopping and tourist sites of Miyajima. Lovely but unobtrusive hospitality with tea, coffee and breakfast toast with local honey provided. The rooms were all well supplied with heaters or air conditioning and we were toasty warm despite the freezing cold winter weather, although the walk past the open-roof courtyard from bedroom to toilet was a little chilly! The cedar bathtub was a highlight.

“Traditional house on a magical island”

We had this traditional house all to our selves. Despite it’s traditional look it had all the modern amenities one needs. It was clean and perfectly presented. The host was very accommodating and helped us with directions and activity suggestions. The island is magical and the house is a short walk from the center.

Fantastic place! Our stay here was one of the highlights of our trip. It was delightful to stay in a traditional house. The house is in two parts, the old wooden part at the front, and a newer part at the back, joined by a covered walkway around a small courtyard garden. Walking outside to get to the bathroom was a new experience for us but very atmospheric, particularly in the rain! It's very spacious, with two kitchen/sitting areas in addition to the two sleeping/living rooms. The bath is a ginormous wooden tub, and the bathroom doors open onto the garden, so you can have an open air bath! The breakfast provided was delicious and sufficient, although we supplemented with some convenience store snacks when very hungry. The futons were very comfy.

The house is a traditional Japanese house. It has a large space with two levels, with a Japanese garden through the middle. The upstairs bedrooms can be opened up into a beautifully decorated large lounge area. The house has all the finishing touches with coffee, jam, tea etc. We were able to drop our bags off before check in and take the 2 hour hike up the mountain. The cable car 🚠 is an easier option. Lovely, very helpful staff.
