The location of this house was perfect, great sunset point with an amazing view. It’s right at the start of the gravel road up to the trailhead. The house is very spacious and clean and was more than spacious enough for us. Salman the owner was great, we arranged a dinner which he provided. He’s a local tour guide and provided us a transfer up the trailhead and he took us to visit a local wadi which was actually the highlight of our whole trip. If you are visiting jebel shams then would highly recommend this accommodation and reach out to Salman for things to see and do in the local area.

Our stay at Salman’s house in Jebel Shams was absolutely unforgettable. The location alone is breathtaking — just about 20 minutes drive from the famous Balcony Walk, with stunning, unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains. Waking up to this landscape and watching the light change over the canyon is an experience we will remember for a very long time. The house itself has a unique character. It truly feels like a mountain lodge, but without sacrificing any comfort. Everything you need is there: a very comfortable bed, spacious and clean bathrooms, reliable Wi-Fi, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home from the first moment. What truly makes this place special, however, is Salman. He is not only an incredibly charming and kind host, but also genuinely cares about his guests’ comfort. He was always available, helpful, and happy to share tips and stories that helped us better understand and discover Oman. And then there is the dinner — which deserves its own paragraph. The meals prepared by Salman’s wife were nothing short of extraordinary. Dinner was an experience in itself. We asked for meat-free dishes, and what we received was the best fish I have eaten anywhere in Oman — perfectly prepared, full of flavor, and unforgettable. Honestly, that fish alone would be reason enough to come back to Salman’s house. This place is more than just accommodation — it is an experience, combining nature, comfort, hospitality, and exceptional food. We could not recommend it more highly.

Our stay at Jebel Shams was truly memorable. The accommodation was spacious, very comfortable, and perfect for unwinding. It genuinely feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere, away from all the noise—at night, the starry sky is clearly visible, which was magical. The home was well stocked with essentials like water, coffee, and milk, which made the stay very convenient. The kitchen is located outside, making cooking a nice, open-air experience that fits perfectly with the surroundings. Most importantly, the host was extremely warm and welcoming, greeting us with a smile and making us feel at home right from the start. A peaceful, comfortable stay—highly recommended for anyone visiting Jebel Shams. 🌌

Salman and Khalid are Great Host. their place is spectacular and well maintained. Food needs to be pre ordered and they make everything possible. Morning fresh coffee is just the best start for the day.

Wilderness setting & views but actually just off the last stretch of tarmac before the 4WD track to Jebel Shams. Home cooked and delivered meals-8OR half board. Spacious rooms, comfy beds, very well presented. Lots of character & very private.

Living room & bedrooms was large. Place was equipped with fridge and microwave. It was private with a great sunset view. Salman, our guide host was friendly and knowledgeable. Tipped us on the places to visit. A delicious breakfast and dinner can be provided with a small fee. Highly recommended this place

The host is amazing. He's a very helpful person who gives good advice. We obtained a lot of information about the country, the culture, and places to visit. The house is located in a fantastic spot, relatively close to the balcony walk and other activities. Food was also good. We recommend it. I had a truly wonderful stay at this accommodation during my trip to Oman. The sunset views from the property were absolutely breathtaking, making each evening unforgettable. The room was spacious, and the entire place was impeccably clean and well-maintained. What really made our stay special, though, was the kindness and hospitality of the host. Not only was the host incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, but they also went out of their way to return a personal item we had accidentally left behind—delivering it to us even though we were far away. This was my first time visiting Oman, and thanks to the host, I was able to see just how warm, kind, and generous Omani people can be. I’m deeply grateful for the experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

We had such a pleasant stay here! Salman's brother welcomed us and gave us useful tips for balcony walk. He recommended doing the hike at sunrise because of the temperatures, and we could have home made breakfast afterwards. The place is really quiet, the room was big and equipped with all the necessary ammenities. We were the only guests so we had the house for ourselves. It has a big porche with very nice views. We also decided to have dinner there, it was simple and comfort food, very plenty and enough for us. Thank you for everything! My boyfriend says Visca Barça! 😂

“A perfect base for a family to explore Jebel Shams”

Loved the spectacular location. Having the whole building away from anyone else meant we did not have to worry about the kids running riot enjoying themselves in the mountain air. The iconic view out towards the Mountain of the Sun was spectacular and we enjoyed sitting out and watching the sun set. Khalid and his brother brought the meals directly from their home - the Omani dishes were mouthwatering (fragrant rice, chicken, Tuna, Dahl) and helped to replenish our exersions from touring the Wadi Damn pools and then the Balcony walk. Khalid was able to provide advice on where to go and what to do together with advice on the best time to complete the balcony walk. When more detail was required he helped us with what we needed through google translate.

An exceptional guesthouse with super star service from Salman & his family 😊 Salman reached out to clarify my questions in a timely manner (one week before my stay) and made me feel secure ahead of tine. Additionally, he’s a great guide and knew the best time to organise the Jebel Shams hike being a local. The accommodation was equipped with fast wifi (not that you would need it in a serene location like this) - specifically, the sunset was spectacular. Generous dinner & breakfast sets were delivered to the guesthouse. Lastly, a big shout out to Salman’s brother who helped me drive my 2WD down the mountain (should have definitely gotten a 4WD) to the city and accompanied me to Al Hoota caves as well 🙏

“Safe, remote, beautiful view of Jebel Kawr.”

Salman is a very friendly host. He’s also a great guide for beautiful walks in the surroundings, especially to Wadi Nakr. Beautiful, challenging hike but you’re rewarded at the end with a beautiful cave lake, that’s refreshing to swim in, before returning. Upon request his wife cooks authentic Omani dinner. While you’re having dinner, Salman keeps you company and he is genuinely interested in his guests. The house is roughly a 20 minute drive from the start of the balcony walk, ideal for a morning hike. To Wadi Nakr is about the same distance. There’s a tarmac road until the house.

This is the place that you like it in the moment. The place has kitchen, two sleeping rooms and two bathrooms, everything very clean. The view is perfect and you can enjoy quite surrounding. Our host also kindly help us with some very useful informations.
