We had a truly wonderful stay at Ubuntu Beach Villas in Mirissa. We loved that the villa is located directly on the beach and is small enough to feel personal, intimate, and peaceful — not at all like a big resort. The sea directly in front of the villa can be a bit rough and isn’t ideal for swimming, but the beach itself is a tranquil piece of paradise, with soft sand, palm trees, and a sense of seclusion that makes it feel as if no one else is around. Despite this peaceful atmosphere, there is an excellent restaurant just a five minute walk along the beach. At night, the experience becomes even more magical, with crabs roaming the sand and even turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs. We were warmly welcomed with wine and a beautiful fruit platter, which immediately made us feel special. The staff were consistently friendly, professional, and attentive. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with high ceilings and a large window that opened directly onto the beach and the sea — a truly breathtaking view to wake up to. Housekeeping was impeccable, and everything was kept spotless. Breakfast was a highlight every morning — enjoyed outdoors with a view of the ocean, offering a small but high-quality menu, fresh fruit, and freshly squeezed juices. With prior notice, we were also treated to a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast, where we were served hoppers until we could hardly breathe. A very special thank you to Ishan and Maleesha, who were always there for every request and truly made us feel like royalty. Ubuntu Beach Villas is the perfect choice for anyone seeking a peaceful beach escape close to Mirissa and its restaurants and shops, while still enjoying a personal, quiet, and intimate atmosphere rather than a large resort experience. We couldn’t recommend it more.

What really made the stay unforgettable was the birthday surprise arranged by the hotel for my daughter. The attention to detail, thoughtful decorations, and warm gestures made me feel genuinely valued and celebrated. Mr.Arul and team were friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure everything was perfect. Overall, this hotel offers the perfect combination of comfort, beautiful views, and exceptional service.
