“Close to the beach”

Perfect location

We stayed in the upper-floor apartment as a couple and were completely satisfied with our last stop on our Sri Lanka trip. The location is fantastic – just a few steps from the start of the beach (in our opinion, the nicer side of Mirissa Beach). Many great restaurants are within walking distance, yet it’s still a bit away from the busiest areas. As some reviews mention, you can hear various beach parties at night (which is probably the case for most accommodations near the beach), but it didn’t bother us much. The apartment itself is modern, bright, and equipped with air conditioning, a fan, and a small kitchenette including a fridge. We especially loved the veranda, where you feel like you’re half in the jungle – sometimes even monkeys stop by. We had hot water every day with very good water pressure. Rohana is truly the best host: always reachable and often organizing things for us spontaneously, like breakfast or excursions. At first, the mattress was a bit too firm for my partner, but Rohana provided a mattress topper within half a day, making the bed perfect – many thanks again for that! Breakfast was wonderful – plentiful, high-quality, and very affordable. Rohana also organized a day trip to Yala National Park for us, including transport, a jeep with a driver, and entry fees – we can highly recommend doing this. The transfer to the airport from Mirissa went smoothly as well. Thank you for everything and warm regards from Vienna!

I just had the most wonderful 4-day stay at Thesara Guesthouse in Mirissa! The owner, Rohana, was incredibly kind and helpful—always smiling and ready to assist with anything I needed. My room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and an excellent shower—I slept so well every night. Plus, the location is unbeatable—just about a 30-second walk to the beach, right at the western end, where the surfboarding happens. Surrounded by plenty of restaurants and cafés, it was the perfect destination. I can’t wait to return!

Wonderfully tucked away but only 50 yards or so from the beach. The room was simple but satisfactory, with a large ensuite. Breakfast was excellent and the owner particularly affable, helpful and welcoming. Plenty of people go back every year. Recommended. Peacocks and squirrels are regular visitors to the path and trees outside.

Great location. Very close to the beach but away from the noise. Monkeys, squirrels and a peacock in the garden. Lovely breakfast. Very attentive host.

Location is good, very friendly owner

Absoloutely perfect guesthouse, just back from the beach so it is cool and quiet but only 2 mins walk to the beach! Lovely owner made us feel very welcome. Great breakfast, fast & cheap laundry service, clean and comfortable room with huge bed. Highly recommend this place!!! ❤️

“Wonderful hideaway retreat”

Rowan is an amazing host he is very accommodating, gave us an early check-in and let us keep our bags there while we we were organising the next part of our trip. The accommodation is large with a huge bathroom and power hot shower ac and fan and great proximity to the beach 2 min walk.The breakfast was wonderful. I would definitely stay here again.

Good location within a short walking distance to beach. Wifi and air cond were excellent and the bed was very comfortable. Mosquito net provided. Huge bathroom. Quiet location a short walk to the road, supermarket and many, many restaurants. Outside tap and shower for rinsing off the sand. We arrived early from Galle and the host let us drop our bags and come back later. Would stay here again.
