Amazing host, very kind and very friendly

I really loved my stay at Ruwan's! Extremely comfortable bed and everything I needed was provided, including a fridge full of cold water! It was a peaceful escape in the jungle, and Ruwan was very friendly and helpful, collecting me in his TukTuk from my hostel and then providing a lift onwards when I left.

Spacious, clean rooms equipped with comfy beds, ACs and a modern bathroom. Breakfast was served on our porch every morning and was simple but delicious. The porch had some lovely hammocks to relax in and watch for monkeys / exotic birds / squirrels. Ruwan has his own tuktuk and gave us many rides, even taking us on a tour down to Galle. Location is nice because it’s off the main road, but still very central. Above all, Ruwan’s family was so kind and welcoming. They invited us to a huge bash for their son’s first birthday, which gave us great insights into Sri Lankan culture and was a wild experience for our baby!

Everything was exceptional Ruwan communication before arrival and during stay very helpful person the place is amazing so peaceful and it’s not far to walk to coconut hill or beach and parrot rock, restaurants ect .Even saw monkey in tree here ,hearing the birds in morning definitely paradise breakfast very good . My room was great hot water fridge water supplied for drinking fan & air con choice very clean and homely touch with plants very comfortable stay good wifi too

“Perfect stay!”

The place is located in the jungle. You can see the monkeys playing in the trees when you wake up. Our room was very clean and spacious. The AC works well. The breakfast is very nice. The host Ruwan is wonderful and very helpful. We bought some fruit on the way (not ripe) but he arranged replacement and made us a smoothie! We spoke about travel plans and Ruwan advised about great turtle spots and arranged a river/lake safari with the transport to the next place. We had a great unforgettable time! I can't recommend Ruwan Jungle Homestay enough! Thank you Ruwan for making our dreams come true! We will come back!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Ruwan Jungle Homestay. From the moment we arrived, Mr. Ruwan made us feel like part of his own family. His kindness, warmth, and genuine care truly made our experience unforgettable. He helped us with everything, arranging tuk-tuks, helping us with the activities, and making sure we were comfortable at all times. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him. The rooms are beautiful and very well maintained, with a separate area for breakfast and even a separate kitchen, which made the stay even more convenient and enjoyable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, fresh, generous, and prepared with so much care. We honestly wish we could have stayed longer, but we will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and memorable stay!

“Nice cozy and comfortable stay”

Spacious clean room and washroom with comfortable beds. Ruwan and his family are very polite, welcoming and accomodated to my needs. Breakfast served was good, though there were limited options, but it is expected from a homestay. I was given a bigger room by mistake but Ruwan allowed me to stay there without charging anything extra, which was highly appreciated.

Great place and well located. The room was very big and clean and delicious breakfast. Ruwan is adorable and helped us with good advices. He even brought my AirPods (that I forgot there) to my next hotel 40 min away!

Amazing place managed by local family. Ruwan (the host) was more than generous. He arranged everything. Pick up, tour inside the island. He can manage anything you need or ask. Breakfasts were so tasty too. The rooms was very clean and comfortable. Good beds and shower. Great place to rest and enjoy nature. As a tourist I feel great supporting local entrepreneurs. We loved staying here and would come back for a next time. 100%recommended.

A very beautiful place and very comfortable. A place where we can relax. The host Ruwan is friendly ,very helpful and very accomadative. Breakfast was good and the dinner he prepared for us was simply delicious and the price was very reasonable.

The property was beautiful nestled in nature, and just a small walk from the main hustle and bustle. However, the most amazing thing about our stay was Ruwan and his family. He went over and beyond for us, he cooked us breakfast every morning, cooked dinner, took us on any adventures we wanted to experience and also organised our transport to the airport. What a lovely stay, couldn’t recommend it more.

1. It's a wonderfully designed eco-homestay! A full flavor of nature. All of sudden you may see monkeys, squirrels roaming around and ofcourse in safe distance. 2. The owner Mr. Ruwan is an amazing, warm, kind hearted and helpful person. He is ready to help in any way. 3. Very good breakfast, Bread, Butter, Jelly, 3 types of fruits, locally made coconut pan cake, coffee, omelette. What else do you need! Mr. Ruwan also Provided complementary breakfast for my 5 year old daughter 4. My room also had a kitchen. You can make your own tea, coffee. Even cooking stove, rice cooker is also there. 5. Room and bed are also spacious. 6. You can have a relax tea time at the evening in the attached balcony.

“A lovely homestay, but did not live up to its wonderful reviews.”

The homestay is comfortable, and Ruwan and his family are warm and welcoming. Breakfast each morning was lovely, and the property is within walking distance of Turtle Beach, some restaurants, and about 1.5 km from the town centre.

Everything was great, and I highly recommend this place. Excellent location, slightly away from the noisy center of Mirissa.

great position, close to the beach and city centre by walk, very nice appartament with jungle feeling garden around, highly reccomend Imalsha restaurant, close on the way to Mirissa on the right side of main road, and if you are looking good healthy fruit smoothie, visit Sethu juices stand, close on the right side of the road, when walking to Coconut hill, and the best of all, Ruwan, one of the best host I met, hardworking man, very helpful not only with the advice but also trip organization, highly reccomend this place for staying in Mirissa

Ruwan’s homestay is a beautiful property and comfortable when you’re in Mirissa. The beach is very near and the place is close to multiple cafés within 500mts and above. The owner made sure we had a comfortable stay and also helped us with activities in and around the place. Options like scuba/whale watching/snorkelling are available if you ask the owner. We were also served breakfast which was all freshly prepared.
